Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 243

Ayla laughed. "All right, I won't keep you guessing. I'll be straight with you. I'm actually with Draven now..."

She had just started to say it when the call unexpectedly connected. She must have accidentally hit the call button.

Ayla instantly gave Halle a "shush" gesture. Halle, realizing the call had already gone through, just sighed and settled in to see what Ayla would do next.

"Is there something you need?" Draven's deep voice came through the receiver.

Ayla said, "Mr. Storm, if a guy's girlfriend gets picked on, he'd definitely stand up for her, right?"

Draven was in the middle of a business dinner, but the moment he picked up, he was already heading out of the room. Once outside, he said, "Of course. Maybe our relationship isn't real, but I still have to act like a real boyfriend, or my mom will never buy it."

His girlfriend being bullied was just out of the question.

Draven would never let it happen.

Even if he didn't make their relationship public, Draven would never let anyone mess with her.

He needed everyone to know Ayla was under his protection.

As for what their relationship was or why, that was for others to guess. He didn't owe anyone an explanation.

"Got it."

Ayla turned to glance at Halle.

Halle gave her an incredulous stare, like she was silently asking, Why are you talking to Draven about this?

"Mr. Storm, I got bullied today, so I hope you can help me out," Ayla told Draven about what happened with Rolf.

Draven didn't interrupt. Once she finished, he just said, "I'll take care of it," and hung up.

Ayla hung up, looking satisfied.

Halle was still confused. "What were you and Draven even talking about?"

"I asked him to help us out."

"Why would he help you?" Halle was totally baffled. Then she looked even more shocked. "Wait, don't tell me he's your boyfriend!"

"Yep." Ayla nodded seriously.

Halle reached over and patted Ayla's head, her expression worried. "No way. Girl, have you finally lost your mind?" She looked so concerned. "Be normal, please, or you'll scare me."

Draven had told her, ever since she agreed to this, she was his girlfriend for real for all practical purposes.

If he just let people bully her, it wouldn't be convincing.

Halle finally got it.

She let go of Ayla, totally baffled.

"You two are moving so fast! I never saw this coming. I mean, it's Draven, for god's sake!"

She just couldn't believe Draven would ever do something like this.

Halle was still suspicious and gave Ayla a long look. "Draven must actually like you, you know."

Halle didn't know Draven all that well. Every time she'd met him, she hardly got a word in. Still, Ayla was leagues ahead of her, so it was no wonder Draven took a liking to her.

But then again, maybe he just gave her some special treatment because he admired her. With Draven's power and his attitude, there were tons of people who wanted to get close, but hardly anyone who actually could. Halle had benefited a lot just by associating with him, so anyone Draven actually liked had to be one in a million.

But with the way Draven treated Ayla, it was more than a little special—he was letting her pretend to be his girlfriend!
