Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 246

Lisa always spoke gently. She had a way of reprimanding people without ever raising her voice, so anyone unfamiliar with her would assume everything was fine. The truth was that the gentler she sounded, the more trouble the situation carried. And if a person still insisted on pushing back at a time like that, the consequences would turn out much worse.

Rolf understood his sister well, so he picked up on it right away.

Whenever his sister was truly angry, she looked just like this.

Lisa's presence weighed on the room, and Rolf couldn't help but tense up.

No matter how annoyed he was, he realized something was definitely wrong tonight.

But he just couldn't bring himself to apologize to Halle!

Besides his pride, he honestly felt he hadn't done anything wrong.

There was no way he could back down.

Rolf had been a rich kid all his life. People were always bending to his will. To ask him to apologize and admit that he was wrong was impossible for him!

Feeling his sister's pressure, Rolf gritted his teeth. "Not everyone's here yet. Lisa, let's wait for Dad."

Lisa replied, "Call me Ms. Alvarado."

Rolf was left speechless.

Lisa only demanded that in the company or at official events. It was her way of telling him that this dinner was not somewhere he could act however he pleased. He had to take it seriously.

But did it really matter?

Halle's company couldn't even compare to a small branch of Alvarado Group. As for Ayla, she was just Troy's ex-wife...

In terms of status or talent, neither of them came close to the Alvarados!

Rolf gritted his teeth, refusing to budge.

Lisa said nothing more.

Rolf understood, though. She hadn't let it go—she was just keeping score.

He still didn't think he'd done anything wrong, so she could keep score all she wanted. Even if she punished him later, he'd take it.

Halle wasn't rushing things. She was just there to watch the show. Rolf was the performer; she was the audience.

She wasn't going to get impatient if Rolf didn't do anything.

She turned around and thought, Wow, Ayla is the picture of composure. There isn't even a hint of smugness or hurry about her. No wonder Conrad and Lisa keep watching Ayla's face—she is unreadable.

I really admire Ayla's calmness, and I'm thrilled for her—my friend got even more awesome after the divorce. She's meant for good things, while Troy totally doesn't deserve her!
