Draven believed that one day, he would erase Troy from her mind. He believed that, in the end, there would only be him left.

From childhood to adulthood, Draven had never fought Troy for anything. He had always stepped aside and let Troy have whatever he wanted. But he would never give Ayla to Troy.

At 4:00 a.m., Draven suddenly received a call from Herman.

Herman wouldn’t call at this hour unless something serious had happened.

Draven answered the phone.

“I’ve been targeted by Troy.”

Draven opened his eyes in silence. Herman was just as careful as he was. Even if Herman had caused trouble this time, he shouldn’t have been exposed so easily.

“What happened?” Draven asked.

“I don’t know. Troy seems crazy. He tracked my movements and grabbed me before he even had proof. I wasn’t prepared, so I got caught off guard. I can’t shake him now.”

Herman’s voice grew heavy. “Max is here too. They can’t find any evidence, so they’ll probably make

some.”

Draven’s voice turned icy. “Once Troy gets something on me, he’ll report it to Martin.”

Herman alone could still hold his ground against Troy. But with Máx involved, it became much harder to handle.

That was why Herman called for help. He just needed to reach someone who could act. He didn’t expect Draven to say. “I’ll come myself.”

Herman was surprised, but he didn’t think too much about it.

If Draven wanted to teach Troy a lesson, it must be because Troy had crossed him.

It was normal for Draven to step in personally when something happened to Herman.

Herman was only a little curious. Draven and Troy had never actually fought before. On the surface, they looked strangely peaceful, which often made Herman feel that Draven was always giving in to Troy.

After all, when Troy went crazy, he wouldn’t even spare Draven. Yet Draven had never cared.

So why did Draven stop protecting him this time?

Still, as long as Draven came, Herman knew he would be fine.

“Alright. I’ll wait for you,” Herman said with a faint smile. He looked refined and gentle, but he was actually very cunning.

Early the next morning, Ayla woke up and found that Draven was gone.

After breakfast, she went straight to the company.

Today was important. She was going to submit her resignation one month in advance.

As soon as she entered Blake’s office, Blake told her that Draven was going on a business trip and asked whether she wanted to go with him.

Ayla directly said she planned to resign. Blake was shocked and felt regret. She valued Ayla’s talent very much, but she also knew that keeping Ayla as just a secretary was a waste of her ability.

Blake didn’t try to stop her. She followed company procedures and started hiring a new secretary. After the new secretary arrived, Ayla trained her, handed over all her work, and officially left the company.

“Alright, I understand.”

After Ayla left, Blake knocked on Draven’s office door. She saw him sitting on the couch, drinking coffee. Every move he made looked calm and pleasing to the eye.

After watching for two seconds, Blake said, “Mr. Storm, Ayla can’t go with you. She’s resigning.”

After saying that, Blake closely observed Draven’s reaction.

Ayla was highly valued by Draven, and she was the secretary he usually brought to business events. Blake thought Draven might be unhappy about her sudden resignation.

She also wasn’t sure if Ayla had discussed this with him first.

But Draven only frowned slightly and said, “I know. Don’t arrange anyone else. Let Will go with me.”

“Okay.” Blake couldn’t see any emotion on Draven’s face. She assumed they had already talked it through, so she didn’t pursue the matter.

After Blake left, Draven’s frown deepened. Why is Ayla suddenly resigning?

He could call Ayla in and ask her at any time. But because of what happened last night, he suddenly didn’t want to. He was afraid of hearing an answer he didn’t want to hear. So he decided to go overseas first and handle the important work.

Draven suddenly seemed to understand why the building blocks he gave her were placed in the cabinet. It was because she hadn’t cared that much in the first place.
