There was still plenty of time left in the afternoon. Ayla figured the trip wouldn’t be an issue.
Casey didn’t seem like the kind of person who would joke about that.
“Mr. Storm, I need to go pick someone up.” Ayla remembered Draven had just gotten off a long flight and must be exhausted. “Why don’t you go home first and get some rest?”
Draven replied directly, “Turn on the navigation.”
His attitude was clear-he was going with her. Ayla thought she could drive on the way back.
Because of Casey’s interruption, she didn’t continue the earlier conversation.
They drove for more than an hour.
Finally, they arrived at the location.
About six miles ahead was a tourist area, but this spot itself hadn’t been developed. It was an empty one- lane road, around four miles away from the main highway.
When they arrived, no one was in sight.
Ayla opened the door and stepped out.
Draven followed closely, not too far from her. There didn’t seem to be any danger around.
Ayla looked around at the lush mountains and clear scenery. “Is anyone here?”
She called out twice. Then there was a sound in the grass.
“Ayla, you really came…”
Draven instinctively shielded Ayla. When he saw the man crawling out of the tall grass, his brows knit together.
He knew who it was.
It was the male escort Ayla had chosen before.
Draven’s gaze instantly darkened.
Why is this guy involved, too?
He suddenly felt ridiculous.
Troy alone had been more than enough. Now there was another pretty boy?
Did Ayla really prefer younger guys, like Kaleb had once said?

Otherwise, why would she drive all the way over a few unclear messages? She’d even suggested he go home and let her come alone.
Draven quickly searched his memory, his expression calm. He remembered briefly seeing this guy at the bar before-he hadn’t even learned his name.
Since Ayla had come for him, Draven couldn’t ignore him.
His deep, sharp gaze swept Casey from head to toe before he asked flatly, “What’s your name?”
Under that cold stare, Casey froze.
Hearing Ayla’s voice made him emotional, his heart racing, almost wanting to cry. But right now, he didn’t even dare smile.
Draven had left a deep impression on him-calm, unreadable, overwhelmingly intimidating. Just being near him made Casey nervous.
Last time, Casey had run off the moment he could. Now they were in the middle of nowhere, with no place to escape. He honestly feared Draven might hit him.
Terrified as he was, he couldn’t stay silent. He glanced at Ayla, then at Draven, forced a stiff smile, and said, “Hello, Mr. Storm. We met once before.”
At least he remembered Draven’s last name.
Draven didn’t respond.
He would’ve preferred not to have that encounter.
Seeing Casey, Ayla stepped out from behind Draven.
Draven gave her a quick look and withdrew his gaze.
His gaze lowered, unreadable.
Casey caught the dark edge in Draven’s eyes. Even without understanding it, fear kicked in. His face went pale as he explained, “I’m not shady, I swear!”
Draven wasn’t talkative to begin with. And when it came to a potential romantic rival… Well, he might as well count Casey as one.
He didn’t feel like speaking at all.
Ayla noticed the shift in Draven’s mood and guessed he was worried. “He’s right. Working as a male escort
at the bar is just his part-time job. He only keeps people company and pours drinks.”
She still remembered how sweet-talking and attentive Casey had been.
“Male escort?”

Draven pressed hard on those words.
“…Yeah. He didn’t cross any lines. He just offers company and emotional support.”
Draven asked, “Do you like that kind of emotional support?”

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
