Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 35

**TITLE: Unwritten Feelings Drift by Austen 35**
**CONTENT: Chapter 35 The Video Call**

Blake’s brow furrowed, a shadow of frustration crossing his face. “Don’t ask why. This is how I operate. If I say go, you go.”

Ayla understood Blake’s no-nonsense approach all too well. He was a man of few words, and those words were always deliberate, calculated. Each task he assigned was meticulously crafted, a testament to his sharp mind and the reason he had maintained his high position within Storm Group for so long.

“Okay,” she replied, a hint of resignation in her tone.

As she walked away, Blake’s gaze lingered on her retreating figure.

Ayla was undeniably the most competent individual in the entire secretary’s office, yet each time a chance for advancement arose, she would hesitate, retreating into her shell. With nearly three years of service under her belt, she had yet to even consider stepping into a minor leadership role.

Blake had aspirations for her, wanting to provide her with opportunities to shine in front of Draven.

However, fate had other plans, as Draven was a no-show that day.

Sacha, on the other hand, was practically vibrating with anticipation. She had waited all day, her curiosity piqued to the point of distraction, akin to a devoted fan chasing after a celebrity.

Before stepping out, she turned to her colleagues with a nervous laugh, “Ayla… and everyone else… please, whatever you do, don’t tell my husband that I was fangirling. He’ll never let me live it down.”

Sacha’s husband had become something of a legend within the secretary’s office, known for his generous spirit. Whenever she had a craving for something sweet, he would surprise her by bringing treats for the entire team.

And Sacha’s cup always bore his thoughtful little touches, a sprinkle of love in every sip.

He cared deeply for his wife and treated her coworkers with kindness, ensuring that everyone had long since been charmed and had promised to safeguard her secret.

After the workday wrapped up, Ayla didn’t hurry home. Instead, she took a steady drive, navigating the roads for half an hour until she reached the Anwell Premium Senior Care Center.

This facility was no ordinary nursing home; it was a luxurious retirement community, complete with round-the-clock medical staff, nutritionists, and highly trained nurses.

Her grandmother was suffering from Alzheimer’s, requiring constant attention and care. Being surrounded by peers and engaging in conversation during her lucid moments was infinitely better than the solitude of home, as it kept her spirits buoyant and her heart lighter.

Ayla made it a point to visit once a month, always around the beginning of the month, as a ritual of sorts.

Upon arriving at her grandmother’s room, she was greeted unexpectedly by her aunt Juliet.

Juliet was engrossed in a video call, her attention fully captured by the conversation, and she wasn’t even wearing any earphones.

“I was tied up on your birthday a few days ago, so I couldn’t send a present. But I bought you a diamond Patek Philippe watch. It’s sitting on your vanity table,” she said, her voice warm and melodic.

Skyla’s soft voice floated through the air. “Thank you.”

There was a palpable affection in Juliet’s tone. “You’re going to that gala this week, right? I’ve booked an international haute couture designer just for you. I have several pieces that even the top actresses haven’t had the chance to wear. Choose whichever you fancy, and I’ll have it sent over for you to try on.”

Skyla’s curiosity piqued. “Are you lending it to me?”

“Lending?” Juliet let out a light scoff, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “How stingy of you! If you like it, I’ll buy it for you.”
