“Is this a scar?” Ayla asked.

Draven paused for a moment, then slowly opened his eyes. His gaze was calm and distant. “Yeah. I got hurt by accident when I was a kid.” He clearly felt Ayla’s body tense. Is she worried about me? The chill in Draven’s eyes faded, and his voice softened. “Don’t worry. You can barely see it with the naked eye anymore.”
Ayla could tell he didn’t want to say more, but she was still uneasy. Luckily, it ran along his wrist and wasn’t in the typical spot associated with self-harm. Otherwise, she probably wouldn’t be able to sleep.
He usually wore a watch, so the scar wasn’t visible.
Draven likes collecting watches. Is this one of the reasons?
Forget it. Tomorrow, I’ll take a proper look at how bad it is.
The warm sensation against her stomach made her especially comfortable. Ayla snuggled closer into his arms. “I’m sleepy, Mr. Storm.”
“Gimme a kiss.”
Ayla immediately pressed her lips to his.
Draven kissed her back the moment she leaned in. So they could sleep well tonight, the kiss didn’t last long. His hands didn’t wander either, staying obediently on her stomach.
“Go to sleep.”
…
Troy watched helplessly as Ayla left with Draven. They even kissed on the plane! Kissed? Ayla and Draven were kissing! The moment that image flashed through his mind, his whole body started trembling with rage. Waves of nausea surged up, and the dry heaving wouldn’t stop. Troy’s face grew increasingly pale.
A stomach spasm he hadn’t had in years hit him today, and he couldn’t hold it back.
After who knew how long, the metal door to the rooftop was pushed open. The people who
came included his own men and Max.
The moment Max saw his face, his expression changed. He had never seen Troy this wrecked.

Max rushed over in a few strides. When he got closer, he saw the many injuries on Troy’s body. “Shit!” His face darkened even more. “Who did this? Tell me.”
Max knew Troy was here because of work, so he wasn’t too surprised. But Troy pressed his lips together tightly, clearly not wanting to speak. The moment he opened his mouth, he felt like he’d throw up again.
Max looked at the way Troy was clutching his stomach. “Let’s go first.”
Troy paused, pressing his stomach harder. His voice was extremely hoarse. “Change hotels. Not here.”
Max knew something serious had happened to Troy. He took him straight to the villa he owned in Aqualith. Aqualith was an international financial hub. Because of work, Max occasionally came here on business trips. He rarely stayed long, but the place had everything.
Max took out the first-aid kit and treated the various cuts and bruises on Troy’s hands and
arms.
Troy looked completely detached, like his soul had left his body, stuck in a frozen state.
Switching to Troy’s other hand and using an iodine swab to disinfect it, Max probed carefully. “Ever since Martin’s birthday, you haven’t contacted me once. I asked you out, and you wouldn’t come. What’s been going on with you these past few days?”
There was no answer. Max lifted his head.
Troy finally looked over. Max had never seen emotions surge so violently in his eyes. They were fierce and vicious, yet also like he was pushed to the breaking point, ready to shatter at the slightest touch.
Troy suddenly grabbed Max’s wrist.
A sharp pain shot through Max’s wrist immediately.
How hard is he squeezing?
The veins on the back of Troy’s hand bulged. The wounds on his knuckles split open again, blood seeping out. He clenched his teeth, and his voice came out rough, dragged up from deep in his lungs. “Ayla and Draven are together!”
Max had already seen Ayla and Draven holding hands and eating together. He’d anticipated this outcome, but it hadn’t been fully confirmed. Now it was.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
