Chapter 606 Can’t I Be Mad?
Ayla watched Troy walk away, a flicker of darkness passing through her eyes. She’d already broken up, and now it was just her and work. Messing with Troy at least made her feel a bit better, and it was only the beginning.
Troy returned quickly with the water. His face was stiff and cold, like he’d just been deeply humiliated.
That clearly pleased Ayla.
She took the bottle with a cold smile.
Draven saw everything from a distance.
“I’m sorry, Draven. I didn’t expect Melody to go after Ayla. She’s recovering at home now. I grounded her.”
Herman felt like Melody’s stupidity was going to kill him one day.
No one was stopping her from liking Draven, but she needed some self-awareness. Even if she couldn’t be with him, she shouldn’t keep doing things that made him hate her.
What was she even thinking? She never listened to reason. Why was she so stubborn?
“Melody is angry at Bria, but she was in the wrong. I’ll keep an eye on her. I won’t le anything stupid.”
Herman already had more than enough to deal with, yet he still had to clean up Me messes.
Ever since the breakup, the atmosphere at Draven’s company had been suffocating. He normally didn’t put too much pressure on his employees, but lately, many of them were on the verge of quitting.
Herman knew why. That made him extra careful around Draven, hoping nothing else went wrong-especially anything involving Ayla. And yet his sister managed to cause trouble again.
Rubbing his temples, Herman followed Draven’s gaze and froze.
He didn’t dare say anything else. He just watched Draven quietly.
For the children’s sake, Ayla was bound to have more contact with Troy after the breakup.
Herman knew Ayla well. He was sure she wouldn’t get back together with Troy. But even so, just seeing them together was enough to stab Draven in the heart.
They were broken up now. Draven didn’t expect anything from Ayla anymore. She didn’t need to act like his girlfriend. Whatever she did was her freedom.
But they hadn’t split because they stopped loving each other. They still loved each other and separated only because they had no other option.
Still, a breakup was a breakup. It meant they weren’t a couple anymore. Given enough time, lovers eventually became familiar strangers.
And when that happened…
Herman didn’t even want to think about it. Draven was bound to suffer through that
But there was nothing there.
Disappointment and pain crashed into her all at once.
The calm the alcohol gave her disappeared instantly, and her mood dropped straight to the bottom.
The one she loved wasn’t there. Instead, the person she hated most stood in front of her— someone buying her water with a dark face. Disgust, anger, and rejection surged up.
Bang!
She’d only taken one sip before slamming the bottle onto the ground.
The cap wasn’t tightened. Water splashed everywhere, soaking Troy’s pants.
His expression darkened even further.
Ayla’s gaze was fierce. “Get lost now!”
Troy clenched his teeth. “Ayla, what are you mad about now?”
She sneered. “Can’t I be mad? This is who I am—the real me. I’m angry. I want to n I want to dump all my frustration on you, just like you used to do to me. Is that not You even went as far as having two kids just to tie me to you. And now you can’t tolera You’d better be ready to accept who I am now. Got it? If you don’t have the patience, th lost.”

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
