Chapter 67 Scared Bria
Renee loved handsome men, so she grew curious. “You know him?”
Bria looked miserable. “Yes. He is my brother.”
She hated saying it. That truth was more terrifying than any nightmare.
Renee went quiet.
Bria said, “I am serious. I am not lying. Same father.”
Renee stared.
Bria snapped, “Why are you quiet?”
Renee sighed. “I think I am jealous of you.”
Bria huffed. “You are always jealous of me.”
Renee muttered, “I finally get why you act so bold. You have two brothers nobody wants to mess with. One is a Zheron heir. One is a Trensea powerhouse.”
No one would try to cross her.
Bria shook her head fast. She had no love for Draven. “You can have the Zheron one. I do not want him.”
Renee fell quiet again.
The charity dinner shifted to donations.
Helena talked about the girls’ high school project she started in the mountain regions. The money raised tonight would support it.
Helena was the main host for the night.
She explained that fifteen schools had been built in three years. The goal was one hundred. They wanted better teachers and better living conditions for the girls.
Tables filled the hall. The two center tables belonged to Storin Group and Winston Group,
The Storm Group table still had empty seats,
Ayla and Will exchanged a look and called Halle over.
Halle arrived and Will introduced her.
Halle was a natural extrovert. She talked easily. She and James clicked fast.
Herman joined in too.

News about Halle offending Winston Group had spread fast. Some companies thinking about partnering with ZeitTech were ready to drop out.
Yet here Halle sat at Draven’s table.
The main table.
And she was right in the center. Impossible to miss.
Many CEOs watched her closely. If they could not reach Draven himself, they could go through people
close to him.
Suddenly it made sense why Halle had the gall to offend Winston Group. She had Storm Group behind her.
Some executives whispered to their assistants to prepare business cards for Halle.
Brooke from Vortex Tech was one of them.
Draven knew Ayla and Halle were connected. He glanced at Ayla.
She felt it and looked back.
Her cool eyes held a small apology.
Draven looked away.
Halle saw it. She worried about Ayla and wanted to help.
But she had to act distant because Troll and Sumbitch sat at the next table.
Ayla sent Halle a text, “Do not worry. I am fine.”
Then she sent Draven one more.
“Mr. Storm, I am sorry.”
Draven looked at it. He sent back a smile emoji. Then he locked his phone.
Ayla was the first woman who dared use him like that.
Ayla stared at her screen, tense.
James leaned toward Draven. “So what secret messages were you two whispering about?”
Draven pushed him back without a word.
Skyla never expected to see Halle here.
Very few dared approach Draven. Yet Halle sat at his table and chatted like nothing.

That confidence made sense now. Draven supported her.
Skyla noticed Ayla sitting close too.
Her eyes went cold.
They had to know each other. They were too close not to.
Though they weren’t at the same table, she was still sitting at the table next to theirs. She could listen in.
Skyla began listening to every sound near them.
She heard Will say Halle was an old classmate.
Ayla and Halle did not talk though. Ayla stayed seated at Draven’s side.
Skyla told herself she imagined things.
If Halle knew Ayla and insulted Skyla, then Ayla would be part of it.
Troy would not let that go with only a few canceled contracts.
At another table, Rolf got a WhatsApp message from his father.
Conrad wrote, “I want to introduce you to someone.”
Rolf replied, “Who?”
Conrad sent, “Come over later.”
He remembered seeing the girl at the racing event. He never guessed she was close to Draven. She was in tech, so it made sense to let them talk.
Even if they struck no partnership, they could talk about the industry and make a connection.
Rolf answered, “Okay.”
After Helena finished speaking, companies and individuals started donating. Nobody was forced, but every donation was above a million.
The final list came fast.
Three names topped it. Helena. Draven. Troy. Each donated one hundred million on behalf of their family and business.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
