Bria struggled even harder. Melody got annoyed and slapped her again.
Ayla's face turned colder. Back then, she had asked Herman to discipline Melody. There was no way he would ignore her, so Melody must have brushed it off herself.
Melody knew Ayla and Draven had broken up. Without power or support, Ayla meant nothing to her now. In fact, Melody enjoyed watching this situation. She ordered the bodyguards, "Take the tape off her mouth."
As soon as the tape was ripped away, Bria shouted, "Ayla, go! Leave me! I'll be fine!"
Ayla frowned. How could Bria possibly be fine? Melody had just tried to hit her head. One strike from that bat could easily cause a concussion. The chance of brain damage was too high. Ayla couldn't take that risk.
"You two seem pretty close."
Melody had seen how arrogant Bria was, but she didn't expect her to care this much about Ayla.
Why did everyone like Ayla so much? Melody couldn't understand it. In family background and talent, how was she worse than Ayla? Even Draven treated Ayla differently!
Bria suddenly asked Melody, "Hey bitch, what was your name again?"
Melody was stunned. "You don't remember my name?"
"Who are you that I need to remember?" Bria's face was covered in blood, but her expression stayed full of contempt. "Listen carefully. If you dare touch Ayla, the moment I get the chance, I'll kill you. I already warned you before. Every time you saw me, you should've taken another path. But you were too stupid. If you can't kill me today, then just wait for me to kill you later. Oh, right, now I remember. You're that useless painter whose work looks like trash. Even with an exhibition, you couldn't sell one ticket. That's you, right?"
Melody was completely furious now. Furious that Bria didn't even remember her. Furious that Bria protected Ayla. Furious that her proud talent was being mocked like garbage.
Without thinking, she wanted to hit Bria again.
"Bria, stop talking!" Ayla snapped. Right now, they needed time. Bria had always been proud and never bowed her head to anyone. Provoking Melody wouldn't help at all. Ayla had to make her shut up first.
Being interrupted made Melody's face turn even uglier. "Ayla, don't rush. You're next!"
Ayla looked at Melody coldly. "Bria is Draven's real sister. Do you really dare touch her?"
Melody froze. She only knew Bria was from Trensea. She didn't know anything else.
Honestly, she had never cared.
Back then, Fabiola had mentioned Bria's background, but Melody only paid attention to the easy parts. She knew Bria was some rich heiress. That was it. Melody herself was also a rich heiress in Zheron. Their backgrounds seemed similar. The only reason Bria dared hit her before was that they were in Trensea. Now Bria was alone in Zheron, and Melody had run into her by chance. There was no reason not to strike.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
