Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 782

Bria felt Kaleb's response.

She didn't know whether to say his instincts were terrible, or her acting was just that good, that he could end up with such a huge misunderstanding.

Her feelings were complicated. Part of her was happy she'd fooled him, and part of her felt a trace of guilt because of how much he trusted her.

I actually feel... guilty?

That was new. She never felt that.

Kaleb saw that she didn't respond. "Am I overthinking this?”

Bria paused. "You'll know after you're done with your work.”

After saying that, Bria took the initiative to hold Kaleb's hand, interlacing their fingers as they spent their rare day off walking around together.

They were both young. Even though their personalities were very different, they could still have fun together. Whenever Bria wanted something, she'd have Kaleb buy it for her. She wouldn't carry a single thing herself, leaving everything for him to hold.

It felt like they'd been together for a long time.

After they went their separate ways, Bria started thinking about something. Why would someone like Kaleb fall for me? Sure, I'm outstanding, top-tier in every way. Anyone who ends up with me is basically hitting the jackpot.

But someone like Kaleb clearly cares more about feelings and character. If he has feelings for me, it won't have even a trace of impurity. It will be completely genuine.

I don't even know when Kaleb started liking me!

Damn it. This whole thing feels wildly unfair.

Once we're officially together, I'm definitely going to ask him why. For now, I'll just wait two weeks for him.

...

Kaleb got home late. Emmett immediately guessed he'd been out on a date with Bria.

Emmett was in a rare, relaxed mood, curious and eager for gossip. "So, how far have things gone with Bria?”

He'd previously told Kaleb to just go with the flow, and Kaleb hadn't been resistant. He'd been interacting with Bria normally.

But Emmett still believed there was no such thing as purely platonic friendship between a single man and a single woman. Besides, as his friend, he could tell Kaleb treated Bria differently. There was no way Kaleb didn't have other thoughts.

Emmett understood too. Bria's personality might be questionable, but she was undeniably gorgeous. Kaleb wasn't blind. Of course, he'd have some level of attraction. And as they spent more time together, discovering more of Bria's strengths, it was only natural to develop feelings.

Kaleb glanced at Emmett. "You'll find out soon enough.”
