In the parallel world, the male lead was alive and well, living happily with the version of the heroine from that world.
Watching this, the heroine covered her mouth and broke down in tears.
Bria frowned in disgust. What kind of trash post-credit scene is this? Isn't it just putting the heroine through another round of suffering?
Bria almost laughed. What garbage.
Just a moment ago, she'd thought the tragic ending of the movie was fitting, but now, she preferred a happy ending. Happiness should exist in the real world, not some parallel one.
When the post-credit scene ended, the lights in the theater came on. Rows of people stood up and started heading out, and cleaning staff came in to clear away leftover soda cups and snack wrappers from the seats.
At that moment, Kaleb let go of her hand.
Bria turned to look at him and met his gaze directly. She didn't know when he'd started looking at her, but she could tell it had been earlier than she realized.
Caught off guard, Bria froze for a second. When she came back to herself, she said, "There's something I wanna tell you.”
Bria thought she could smoothly say the next line about whether they should date, but Kaleb cut her off. "I know what you're going to say, but give me some time.”
Bria was genuinely surprised by his response, just like she'd been when he suddenly grabbed her hand earlier.
She looked into his eyes, then followed his lead. "How long?”
Kaleb blinked, as if considering the timing, then gave a precise answer. "Wait until my game launches. Once I've finished what I need to do, then I can handle the next important thing.”
He liked to focus on one thing at a time.
Bria asked, "How much longer?”
Kaleb said, "About two weeks.”
Bria thought it over. Waiting for two weeks wasn't impossible. "Sure. Hope your game's a big hit.”
Kaleb gave a small nod. "Thanks.”
Bria tilted her head up. "You really know what I was going to say?”
Kaleb said, "I can prove it without saying it out loud.”
Bria asked, "How?”
Kaleb didn't answer right away. He glanced at his phone, then noticed the cleaning staff was about to reach their row. "Let's head out first.”
Bria agreed and stood up to leave the theater, already wondering how he planned to prove it.
Bria was used to being in control, but with Kaleb, she felt like he was setting the pace. Her actions depended on his response.
Of course, she was still taking the initiative. It was evenly matched.
If she didn't make a move, Kaleb wouldn't respond either.
If this blockhead gets it wrong, I'll probably be furious, disappointed, annoyed... I'm trying to confess here. He'd better not get it twisted and think I want to be his buddy.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
