One, two, three... ten... fifteen... thirty-five... fifty...
Her mind finally started moving again.
At last, she remembered what had happened.
Bria suddenly clutched her stomach, curling up on the couch.
Why are there people this damn unpredictable? Why the hell didn't Kaleb say anything before showing up? Wasn't he supposed to be busy?
Wasn't he supposed to be socially anxious? Wasn't he the kind of cold guy who'd only show up once out of ten invitations?
Then why did he suddenly sneak over this time? And even eavesdrop outside the door!
Couldn't he have just walked in like a normal person?
How could Kaleb be this shameless?
Bria shook with anger. Kaleb is always like this, always out of line, always catching me off guard. Damn it, I've spent so much time and effort trying to win him over. When it comes time to settle things, the damage I dealt to him should've been devastating, enough to justify everything I've put in!
Not this, not him finding out early and just walking away with a "I'll keep my distance from you”!
It was a massive letdown. Like waiting for a grand fireworks show, only to get a tiny spark that never even lit.
She wanted to see Kaleb suffer, not watch him turn around coldly and leave. After everything she'd done, how could the damage to him be zero?
This suffocating outcome was something Bria couldn't accept. She hated it when her efforts went to waste, and Kaleb's showing up uninvited only made her rage burn hotter.
Kaleb ruined my plan!
All those times I've forced myself to get close to him, swallowing my disgust, have turned into a complete joke!
And then there's that idiot, Shirley!
She was supposed to be a well-behaved little pet, yet she dared to look at me with disbelief and rejection. Who gave her the right?
Who was the one who rushed over overnight when she got hurt on set? How dare Shirley hold any resentment toward me!
Even after finding out the truth, Shirley should've accepted it calmly and even thanked me properly, not run off with Kaleb!
The more Bria thought about it, the angrier she got. All my effort was for nothing, and I've even gotten bitten by my own pet!
She couldn't accept this result. She absolutely couldn't.
Bria curled up tighter. Her mind was crystal clear now. She understood everything, and it was all terrible. She wanted to smash everything in this place.
But her rational side told her she couldn't do that.
If she couldn't accept this outcome, then she simply wouldn't accept it. She was going to see this through to the end.
She hated putting effort into something only to quit halfway. Even more, she hated putting in effort and getting nothing in return.
Kaleb. Shirley.
Neither of you is getting away from this!
In any relationship, I'm always the one in control. They're not just gonna walk away because they feel like it!

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
