Divorce me I'm done serving you (Ayla) novel Chapter 819

These two months of clearing her head had truly changed Bria's mindset. She was no longer ruled by extreme emotions. She knew what she wanted now and could respond normally instead of reacting out of pure impulse.

She'd thought about calling Kaleb in advance, but after two months of no contact and after ruining his birthday party before she left, he probably wished she'd disappear forever.

Calling him wasn't an option. He'd probably blocked her already.

She couldn't just show up in front of him either. That would only scare him off, or worse, make him look at her with that same disgust again.

After going back and forth in her head, Bria came up with what felt like a better way to meet him.

A family gathering.

With Ayla, Draven, and the twins there.

In that kind of setting, she wouldn't focus too much on Kaleb, but through interacting with Ayla and the kids, she could let him quietly see how she'd changed.

It would be a gentle way to start. Then she could keep showing her best side. This time, she was truly trying to win him over. She couldn't keep arguing or losing her temper.

That was the plan. But chances like that were rare. Unless it was a holiday, it would feel too forced, and everyone was busy. It wasn't easy to get everyone together.

Bria wanted to see Kaleb too badly. She couldn't wait that long. In the end, she secretly checked his schedule and followed him in her car.

She didn't think of herself as a stalker. She just wanted to see how he was doing, to know something about him.

These two months of self-discipline had made her cut off all information about Kaleb. The good part was that her emotions had stabilized a lot. The bad part was that every single caption she posted on social media ended with the same line: she missed him.

Now she really did. She just wanted to see him once.

It was a weekday. Kaleb wasn't at the company. He was out entertaining clients at a golf course. At one point, he stood by the lake for a long time, hesitating before throwing something into the water, then turned and walked away.

Bria was curious. What did he throw in there? Why did he hesitate for so long before doing it?

After Kaleb and his group left, Bria walked to the edge of the lake. She was planning to go into the water to retrieve whatever it was.

The bodyguard beside her was about to call someone else to do it.

But Bria had already stepped into the water.

After an hour, she finally found something that looked like what he'd thrown.

It was a ring.

Soaked through, Bria crouched by the lake, turning it over and over, but she couldn't see anything special about it. She even worried she'd picked up the wrong thing. But according to the surveillance footage, it was this ring. There was no mistake.
