Renee was a little intimidated by Kaleb. When he locked onto something, he lost his chill and didn't care what anyone thought. She felt caught in the middle. "I can only tell you that Bria is perfectly safe, but she's just in a position where you can't go looking for her. Give it a month. You'll see her in a month."
Kaleb frowned. "We've been together for a long time. If she was safe and nothing unusual was going on, she would've told me herself instead of hiding it from me."
"Oh, come on!" Renee groaned. "Stop asking. It's really not a big deal."
The less she said, the more worried Kaleb became, making him even more determined to get answers.
Renee sighed. "If I tell you, you're definitely going to go find her. Then the two of you will get exposed."
Kaleb said, "So the only reason she didn't tell me is because she's worried her family will find out we're dating?"
"Exactly."
Kaleb hadn't realized Bria cared so much about keeping their relationship a secret. "Just tell me. I won't go."
Renee trusted Kaleb's character, so she told him everything.
Bria had been grounded. The punishment itself wasn't severe. The real problem was that Bria simply couldn't handle hardship. To her, one month of this kind of life felt like torture.
The last time she went through it, she'd lost her mind the second she got out.
No one understood how spoiled Bria was better than Kaleb. And because he understood her so well, Renee knew what would happen once he learned the truth. There was no way he would sit back and watch her suffer. Bria knew that too, which was why she had repeatedly warned everyone not to tell Kaleb.
After finishing the story, Renee reminded him one more time not to go.
Kaleb agreed without hesitation. But the moment he came back from abroad, he took his Border Collie, hopped in his car, and headed straight for Bria.
He really couldn't stand the thought of her suffering.
...
As Bria sat alone, miserably chewing on a bowl of boiled cabbage, she suddenly saw Kaleb standing in front of her. For a moment, she thought she was hallucinating.
Then the little Border Collie barked and jumped into her arms. Only then did Bria realize that Kaleb had actually come.
Oh my God! This isn't a dream!
Without a second thought, she abandoned her "son," throwing herself into her boyfriend's arms.
Kaleb wrapped an arm around her waist and caught her effortlessly.
Bria showered his face with kisses before finally asking, "How did you get here?"
Even though she had tried to keep him away, now that he was actually standing in front of her, she was unbelievably happy!
She'd missed him!
She'd missed him to death!
Kaleb replied, "Your son missed you."

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
