The rich guy couldn't hide forever, so he eventually returned to Aqualith with Winnie.
Not long after Winnie and her husband got home, she got a call from an unknown number.
"Hello? Who's this?" Winnie asked in her usual sweet, innocent tone.
On the other end, Shawn gripped his phone tightly. His eyes instantly turned red. "Winnie, it's me. Where have you been?"
Winnie was stunned. Wasn't Shawn about to get married? Why was he still looking for her?
"I went on my honeymoon with my husband," she answered honestly.
Shawn was shocked and went quiet.
Then came a long, dead silence. Winnie thought he might've hung up, so she asked, "Mr. Shawn? Are you still there?"
Shawn could barely hear his own voice. "You got married?"
"Yep, I'm married."
"When?"
"Not long after you left for Redmont. My husband and I had a whirlwind marriage." She happily shared the news with him.
Shawn wanted to kill someone. "How could you get married?" he demanded, each word forced out through clenched teeth.
Winnie said, "I have to think about myself. My husband treats me really well."
Shawn's world came crashing down. He'd taken his eyes off Winnie for just a little while, and she'd gone and married another man.
If only he'd known. If only...
Argh!
Shawn smashed his phone.
Even if the sky were falling, he was determined to hold it up himself.
Married? Fine. He'd just find a way to make them divorce!
She was his. No one else was allowed to take her away!
In the end, Shawn did force Winnie and her husband to get divorced. He used plenty of methods to make it happen, though the details were never reported by the media.

Why is half of each of these chapters missing? The story sort of trails off in the middle of the chapter. That’s unfortunate....
