Jonathan added, “You don’t have to worry about my mom suddenly showing up and making things hard for you. And really, don’t feel any pressure. I would never cross any lines without your consent. I know what I’m doing–just like last night.”

When he brought it up last night, Teresa couldn’t help but feel a little shy. He’d had a few drinks, while she hadn’t touched a drop, yet she was still completely swept away by the passion of his kisses.

If he hadn’t been so considerate of her physical state, she probably would have been too exhausted to get out of bed this morning. He was just so full of energy. It was no wonder he always succeeded at whatever he set his mind to.

But Teresa still couldn’t figure out what Jonathan was thinking when he asked her to move with him. She just wanted to be sure about where his feelings stood.

“Let me pay you rent, okay? Just treat it like I’m only staying in your house temporarily. I hope you’ll say yes,” Teresa said. That was her condition.

Jonathan hesitated for a few seconds before agreeing.

Amy, who was all alone, was also brought to Forlisle Rose Estates. She had never seen such a lucrative villa before–it was like something out of a TV show.

She stood there, staring in awe for a long time. “Ms. Johnston, your ex–husband is so rich. Why don’t you just get back together with him?” Amy asked. Teresa didn’t respond to that question.

Jonathan picked Michael up from kindergarten, and Felix was settled in as well. So, Teresa and the two kids moved into Forlisle Rose Estates. She and Jonathan slept in separate rooms, and they didn’t tell anyone about

Since joining the Chamber of Commerce, Teresa had become even busier than Jonathan.

Every day, after finishing up at the office, Jonathan couldn’t wait to get home, pick up the kids, and take care of them.

He’d tell Mike stories and play with Felix. Felix had these bright, big eyes and a straight, well–defined nose. Whenever he wasn’t sleeping, he’d look up at Jonathan and smile.

Jonathan had never felt so hopeful about life before. He wanted to be there for both kids as they grew up, living a simple, peaceful life. But this happy life only lasted for three days.

On Saturday, since Michael didn’t have to go to school, Jonathan and Teresa decided to take him to the aquarium.

That’s when they bumped into Evelyn, who was just coming back from a shopping trip at the mall. Jonathan got out of the car and greeted her politely.

When Evelyn saw Jonathan return and then spotted Teresa and Michael getting out of the car, she instantly realized what was going on. She turned to Teresa. “You two–what’s going on here?”

Teresa didn’t answer right away. Instead, she took Evelyn by the arm. “Can we talk in private?” She didn’t want to discuss this in front of Michael. So, she pulled Evelyn aside.

Michael looked up at Jonathan, a little worried. “Dad, Grandma’s not going to hit Mom, is she?”

Jonathan shook his head. “No, she won’t.” When Teresa still didn’t come back after a while, Jonathan started to get anxious. He told the driver to watch Michael for him.
