“Has she given birth? Are they safe?” Jonathan asked anxiously.

“The doctor said she’s still in labor–” Gary replied.

“Why is it taking so long? Take me to her now!” Jonathan cut him off, already striding ahead of Gary.

Just as they reached the floor, Jonathan saw the red light above the operating room, and then a doctor came out holding blood- soaked gauze.

In that instant, Jonathan was in so much pain he could barely breathe. He felt like he was suffocating. The sight of all that blood was horrifying. He grabbed a doctor, his voice trembling with urgency. “What’s my wife’s condition now?”

The doctor, sounding a bit defensive, quickly explained, “She did have some bleeding earlier, but she’s out of danger now, Mr. Lynn. Please try not to worry. This kind of bleeding is pretty common, especially with premature labor.

“Things were a bit more intense because of the early delivery, so there was more blood than usual.”

Jonathan didn’t say a word, his eyes growing misty. ‘That’s all Teresa’s blood. She must be in so much pain, he thought, heart aching. His fists clenched at his sides so hard his knuckles creaked. “I just want her to be safe. Save her.”

“Don’t worry, Mr. Lynn. Her will to live is incredibly strong. She kept cheering herself up the whole time. We’ll do everything we can to save both her and the baby,” the doctor reassured him.

Just then, Jonathan’s phone rang. It was Eason. “Jonathan? What’s gotten into you, you little punk? I haven’t done anything to you!”

That morning, when Teresa left Nareigh, Jonathan had gone to see Eason, and Eason was the one who offered a truce fire

Eason said he wasn’t the type to kick a man when he was down, and he’d never use women or children as bargaining chips. he told Jonathan he’d wait until Teresa had delivered safely, and then they could settle things between them.

Jonathan respected him for being a stand–up guy. But now things were different.

“Go ask your daughter what she did to my wife. My wife’s in premature labor because of her, and I swear I won’t forgive any of you for this!” Jonathan snapped before hanging up.

Eason was left completely dumbfounded, frozen on the spot. He honestly couldn’t figure out how Yalena could’ve pushed Teresa. into premature labor.

He’d clearly told Yalena not to push things too far, not to hit someone when they’re already down, especially when they’re at their

most vulnerable.

“Hello?” Jonathan answered another call.

“Mr. Lynn, we’ve tracked down Yalena. She’s at a parking lot near the Capital Airport. Looks like she’s trying to leave,” the voice on the other end said.

“Stop her. Don’t let her get away. Take her to a nearby hotel. I’ll be there soon,” Jonathan’s eyes were sharp and menacing, brimming with a cold, murderous rage. His gaze was icy enough to freeze someone on the spot.

Gary saw that deadly glint in his eyes and felt a chill running down his spine. Jonathan really looked like he could kill someone.
