Lawrence sighed. “Now isn’t the time for you to worry about all that. I’ll keep a close watch on the Drake family. If I hear anything, I’ll let you know.

“You don’t need to be too concerned either. From what I know, there hasn’t been any news of the Drake family punishing one of their own in recent years.

“You should be worrying about yourself instead. You mustn’t expose the fact that you have the Drakeborne lineage. If they discover that, you might end up causing trouble for your father!”

Ashton nodded, forcing the distracting thoughts out of his mind. What he needed now was to grow stronger- strong enough to disregard all the rules and crush the Drake family.

Slowly, the two returned to the entrance of the Legion Cemetery.

“Grandpa!”

Kayla dashed up to them, but her eyes popped open when she saw the custom–made battle robe Ashton was wearing. “Grandpa! Why did you give your battle robe to him?”

This wasn’t an ordinary battle robe. It could only be worn by the leaders of the Legion.

“I’ve given it to Ashton,” Lawrence answered with a smile.

Kayla pouted at once, but Lawrence started coughing, his body hunched over.

“Is there something wrong with your health, Mr. Clarkson Senior?” Ashton asked.

“It’s just an old ailment. You don’t need to worry about it. I won’t be dying just yet.”

“Don’t even talk about dying, Grandpa! You’ll definitely live to a hundred. I’ve invited Dr. Donahue to come and check on you tomorrow. Maybe he’ll be able to help you,” Kayla insisted, her eyes reddened.

Ashton looked at the sky before remarking, “I know a bit of medicine myself, Mr. Clarkson Senior. I’ll drop by tomorrow to check on you as well.”

“You? Hah! You needn’t concern yourself with my grandpa’s health!” Kayla snorted in displeasure.

She seriously couldn’t understand why Lawrence held Ashton in such high regard!

On the other hand, Lawrence said cheerfully, “Sure! Neil, remember to pick up Ashton tomorrow. We didn’t get to chat as much as I would’ve liked today. Let’s continue our conversation tomorrow.”

Neil nodded and exchanged contact information with Ashton.

Meanwhile, over at Paramount Hospital, Trent was finally wheeled out of the operating room and taken to the ICU. He’d been in there for hours following the injury Ashton dealt to his manhood.

“Doctor! How’s my son?” Gerrick Kramer, Trent’s father, asked anxiously, his forehead covered in sweat.

“We tried our best, Mr. Kramer, and we were able to save the young Mr. Kramer’s life, but I’m afraid we couldn’t reverse the injury to his lower region.”

Gerrick grabbed the doctor by his coat and roared, “What are you saying? Does this mean my son will never be able to function like a proper man ever again? He’s basically impotent?”

Trent’s eyes flashed with resentment and a thirst for vengeance. Now that he had lost all use of his manhood, he would no longer be able to indulge in his greatest source of joy. There was no meaning to life anymore!
