Chapter 115

“Renee?” Ashton repeated.

Only then did he spot Renee in the distance. She was slumped on the ground, her face colorless from the heavy blood loss. The pool of blood beneath her ribcage continued to expand, dyeing her clothes red.

Even so, her body continued to twitch and tremble. Ashton knew this was the effect of an overdose of aphrodisiac.

Renee was in critical condition!

Ashton’s expression hardened. In a flash, he shot past Trent and Gerrick, coming to a stop in front of Renee. He quickly channeled a wisp of his inner energy into her, temporarily stabilizing her condition.

Thankfully, the dagger had missed her heart.

Renee was barely conscious. When she opened her eyes and saw Ashton’s familiar face, she resisted the symptoms of her wound and the aphrodisiac to say, “Ashton, take Celia and go! They won’t dare to do anything to me.”

Considering how outnumbered he was, she was worried he wouldn’t be able to defeat them.

Ashton stared at Renee’s exquisite face that was now pale and streaked with blood. Guilt and rage both raged within him.

Her words made him freeze. Was she… serious about that?

Ashton shook his head, pushing aside all these thoughts as he continued channeling his inner energy into her to purge the aphrodisiac’s effects.

Soon, Renee fell into a deep sleep, though a faint smile clung to her lips.

“Get him!” Gerrick commanded, his gaze hostile.

To him, Ashton was a dead man.

Immediately, the Kramers‘ men began charging at Ashton from all directions, their expressions ferocious.

But Ashton didn’t move. He stood still, his lips curling into a deadly smile. His voice sounded like it’d come from the depths of hell as he said, “Sovereign Flame!”

The moment the words left his mouth, two streams of blood rolled from the corners of his eyes. Within his pupils, the silhouette of a black dragon seemed to appear, and a light crackled like lightning deep within his dark eyes.

All at once, screams filled the air.

Black flames appeared on every single man who’d charged at Ashton, and their faces were now contorted in agony. Soon, they were entirely consumed by the flames, the stench of something burnt rapidly seeping through the air.

In under a minute, it was as if all of these highly trained martial arts experts had never existed, to begin with. They’d been wiped from the face of the world, leaving only a scattering of embers that gleamed eerily on the ground.

“W–What…”

The terrifying scene that they just witnessed left both Trent and Gerrick frozen in horror. Blinking rapidly, they exchanged looks.

They couldn’t believe that the alarming display they just saw had indeed been real.

Over a dozen men had been reduced to ashes right before their very eyes. Not even their bodies remained!

Just what kind of monster had they provoked?

Once they remembered that they’d been about to gouge out Celia’s eyes and break her limbs, they were gripped

with fear.

“Dad, he must be an S–ranked expert, right?”

Trent felt chilled to the bone, the mad desire for revenge having long since disappeared from his eyes. All that was left now was the genuine terror he felt for Ashton.

“Quick! Go to your Uncle Harrick! Only the Gale Assembly can keep you safe now. Go at once!” Gerrick urged.

He’d seen the murderous look in Ashton’s eyes. He knew the Kramers had crossed the line. There was no going back now.
