Ashton’s gaze was cold as ice.
If he’d arrived even a minute later, the consequences would’ve been unthinkable. Regardless of whether Celia was traumatized by the incident, Renee’s injury alone was reason enough for Ashton. He wasn’t going to let the Kramers live past tonight!
“Don’t push it, Ashton! The Kramers are backed by the Gale Assembly, the most powerful faction in the criminal underworld of Javonbury!” Gerrick declared.
“My younger brother, Harrick Kramer, is the deputy head of the Gale Assembly! No matter how strong you are, you’re no match for the Gale Assembly. Give me a chance, and I’ll—”
Before Gerrick could even finish speaking, he was completely swallowed up by black flames, and he was too weak to fight back.
He let out a blood–curdling scream before swiftly being reduced to ashes.
Harrick arrived just in time to see this.
“Uncle Harrick! You’re finally here! Ashton killed my dad! We’re all going to die!”
Trent’s lips had gone pale. After having witnessed the death of his own father, he felt like he’d been plunged into the depths of despair.
“A divine ability?” Harrick exclaimed in shock, his footsteps coming to an abrupt halt. “Only an S–ranked expert or stronger can use a divine ability! Damn it! Why didn’t you guys tell me that Ashton is an S–ranked expert? Do you know what happens when you cross an S–ranked expert?”
Harrick was filled with regret. He was only an A–ranked expert himself! He’d die if an S–ranked expert came after him!
“Let’s go!”
Coming to a swift decision, he grabbed Trent and made a run for it. He didn’t dare to go up against the murderous Ashton.
The priority now was to rush back to the Gale Assembly headquarters. He’d be safe there.
Ashton eyed them and the others from the Gale Assembly in contempt. From the moment he’d decided to use the Sovereign Flame, he’d made up his mind not to let any of them leave this place alive.
But just as he was about to launch an all–out attack, two cars came speeding up.
Ashton frowned, the flames in his eyes slowly dissipating.
There was no rush. Trent and Harrick could run, but they couldn’t hide. He’d already left his mark on them. Tonight, the two of them were doomed to die, and not even God can save them!
Meanwhile, the two cars screeched to a stop in front of Ashton. Roxy and Eunice came rushing out of the cars, both looking quite anxious.
Roxy rushed up to Ashton and grabbed Celia out of his arms, only exhaling in relief when she confirmed that the sleeping Celia was unharmed.
“Look what happened because of you, Ashton!”

Roxy had been terrified when she heard that someone wanted to hurt Celia, and her hatred for Ashton reached its limit, too. That bastard had put her daughter in danger!
Ashton didn’t bother explaining himself. He had indeed dragged Celia into this.
“This won’t happen again,” he said curtly.
“Again?”
Eyes red–rimmed, Roxy raised her hand to slap Ashton, but he grabbed her by the wrist and snarled, “Don’t push it!”
Scoffing, Roxy flung his hand off.
“Roxy! You’re back at last! That damned Ashton wants to ruin us all!”
After seeing that everything had settled down, Michael and Tanya finally came rushing out of the house.
“Renee! What happened?” Michael cried out in alarm when he noticed Renee lying in a pool of blood.
Eunice swiftly checked Renee’s pulse before saying, “There’s nothing to worry about. She only fainted due to her blood loss, and it looks like the bleeding has stopped for now. She’ll be fine after a period of recovery.”
“Oh, good. I’m so glad!” Tanya cried out. “If you came back any later, Roxy, Renee and Celia would’ve been badly hurt! Thank goodness you and Ashton have filed for divorce. Otherwise, a great calamity would’ve befallen our family!”
