“Oh? Tell me exactly what happened,” Cadence instructed.

After giving a summary of the situation, Harrick added concernedly, “I’m worried that Ashton might cause trouble for the Gale Assembly, Mr. Suther.”

“He’s just an S–ranked expert. You don’t need to care too much about him. I doubt he’d dare to cross the line!” Cadence declared with confidence. “You’re one of us, so the Gale Assembly will certainly protect you!”

“Thank you, Mr. Suther!”

Harrick’s heart had only just settled back in place when, out of nowhere, a thunderous voice seemned to echo through the walls of the Gale Assembly headquarters.

“Hand over the heads of Trent and Harrick Kramer! If you don’t, the Gale Assembly will cease to exist!”

These simple words rocked every member of the Gale Assembly to the core!

“Bad news, Mr. Suther! A man by the name of Ashton Gray is outside, and he’s barging his way in with Gene Larson from the Noir Bar!”

“What did you say?”

Harrick’s eyes widened, his expression stricken with fear.

Despite having deduced that Ashton was no pushover, he didn’t think Ashton would actually dare to charge right into the Gale Assembly headquarters!

Just how arrogant was he!

“It’s been ages since someone dared to cause a scene right on our doorstep. How exciting!” Cadence remarked.

He slowly rose to his feet, his eyes glinting coldly as he strode off. “Come. Let’s meet this Ashton. I’d like to see if he really has some kind of unparalleled strength for him to dare to kill someone in my territory!”

Meanwhile, howls rang out across the headquarters as Ashton and Gene sent all the members flying.

Gene was giving his all, showing no signs of holding back as he launched his attacks. He knew that this was his way of pledging his allegiance to Ashton. If Ashton couldn’t make it out of this place alive, he would be dying as

well.

Besides, even if he managed to escape with his life, the Gale Assembly would surely come after him. Even if nothing else happened, Noir Bar was certainly doomed.

The only way things could turn out well was if Ashton managed to bulldoze over the Gale Assembly, but that was practically impossible.

As it was, even Gene couldn’t understand why he was risking his life. Perhaps it was out of a desire to repay the debt of gratitude he owed Ashton, or maybe because he had some sort of inexplicable faith in Ashton.

“I’ll handle things here, Mr. Gray. Go ahead and take out your targets!” Gene bellowed.

Just then, Louie arrived at the Gale Assembly headquarters as well. However, he kept himself hidden and observed from a distance. Too scared to join in, he’d chosen the opposite of Gene’s decision.

All of a sudden, someone started clapping.

Cadence approached Ashton with a team of imposing martial arts experts behind him.

“Uncle Harrick!”

Scared witless, Trent immediately hid behind Harrick. He couldn’t believe that lunatic Ashton had the gall to barge into the Gale Assembly headquarters and specifically demand his life!

“Don’t worry! Ashton has walked into his own doom. We can avenge your father now, and maybe you might even get to kill Ashton yourself!” Harrick said darkly.

“Really?” Trent exclaimed in joy before glowering resentfully at Ashton.

“Ashton Gray and Goober Larson, am I right? How dare you cause trouble here at the Gale Assembly? Are you prepared to die today?” Cadence growled as he emitted a terrifying force.

Gene felt the crushing force enveloping him. His expression stiffened, and his knees buckled from the overwhelming pressure that was beyond what he could bear. Just as he was about to fall to his knees, however, Ashton placed a hand on his shoulder.

A wisp of inner energy entered Gene’s body, allowing him to regain his balance.

“Hand over the heads of Trent and Harrick Kramer, and I’ll spare your lives,” Ashton calmly stated.

Expression tensing, Cadence eyed Ashton curiously before sneering. “And if I don’t?”

“If you don’t, I’ll kill off every last member of the Gale Assembly.”
