Chapter 122
Ashton strode up to Cadence and stared him down. His presence alone overwhelmed every single member of the Gale Assembly, who were now too scared to make a sound.
Gene felt the excitement roaring in his veins as he stared at the back of Ashton’s commanding figure. This was what a hero looked like!
He couldn’t be more glad about the choice he’d made.
Over in the corner, Louie was flabbergasted. Was Ashton that strong?
“Let me have a go with him, Mr. Suther!” Simon Grady, an S–ranked expert, called out.
Stepping forward, he nodded at Ashton, saying, “I look forward to learning from you, Mr. Gray!”
“I’ll give you one chance to strike. I don’t have time to waste,” Ashton coolly replied.
“One is enough!”
Simon’s body rattled with inner energy, his knuckles crackling with the raw power coursing through him. He swiftly channeled all of his force into his fist. Filled with the might of an S–ranked expert, he aimed his punch right at Ashton’s head.
“No one is allowed to humiliate the Gale Assembly!” Simon roared. “Let’s see how you’re going to block this punch!”
Exclamations rang out from the crowd.
“The might of a grandmaster!”
“Such terrifying force! Mr. Grady has been hiding his true strength the whole time!”
“It’s a pretty decent punch, but that’s all,” Ashton remarked.
Black flames flickered in his eyes once more as he lifted his hand and met Simon’s fist with just a single finger.
In an instant, the world seemed to freeze over.
The wind stirred up by the force of Simon’s fist died out on the spot as his fist hung mid–air. No matter how he tried to channel his inner energy and strength, he couldn’t bring his fist any further forward.
The strength of just one of Ashton’s fingers is already an impenetrable obstacle for him.
“How is this possible…”
Simon was an S–ranked expert who focused on cultivating his physical strength. It was something he was exceedingly confident in. Even if it’d been Cadence whom he went up against, as long as he could get near enough, he had a fighting chance of winning.
But now, he was completely powerless!
Simon had never been this terrified of someone before.
Meanwhile, Ashton gave Simon’s fist a gentle flick of his finger, and Simon was thrown over 300 feet backward. Blood instantly gushed out of him.
He’d been completely defeated.

“Y–You’re not an S–ranked expert!” Simon cried out in horror before blacking out from the pain.
Out of nowhere, Cadence called out, “That was very impressive, Mr. Gray!”
His earlier hostility had vanished, replaced with a smile. “Come. Have a seat!”
The members of the Gale Assembly exchanged glances. They’d never seen the arrogant Cadence treat anyone this courteously before.
However, Ashton continued to eye Cadence coldly, his gaze flickering with hostility. The Drakeborne lineage coursing through his veins was stoking his murderous rage.
“Rest assured, Mr. Gray! I’ll hand over Trent and Harrick Kramer right away. Feel free to deal with them as you please!” Cadence promised.
“You can’t do that, Mr. Suther!” Harrick cried out in alarm. “I’ve done a lot of the Gale Assembly all these years. I

“How noisy! Subdue him!”
A wisp of inner energy shot out from Cadence’s palm, sealing Harrick’s meridians. He instructed his men to force Trent and Harrick to their knees before saying, “Here are the two people you asked for, Mr. Gray.”
“If you’d handed them over to me from the start instead of attempting to coerce me with this display, Mr. Suther, I would’ve stopped after killing them both. But now…”
Ashton put his hands behind his back before continuing icily, “Handing them over won’t be enough anymore!”
Cadence raised a brow, his smile vanishing as he asked grimly, “What else do you want, Mr. Gray?”
“I want the Gale Assembly to submit to me,” Ashton calmly replied.
Cadence’s gaze turned cold. “Don’t you think you’re going a bit too far, Mr. Gray?”
Ashton looked at him. “If you don’t submit to me, you’ll die, and the Gale Assembly will cease to be.”
“I’d like to see you try!”
Outraged, Cadence revealed his true power, the force of an SS–ranked expert emanating from him. “Do you still think you can make me—and the Gale Assembly–submit to you now?”
“An SS–ranked expert!”
Gene’s eyes widened in shock. Never would he have ever imagined that Cadence was already a supreme grandmaster! This was his trump card!
He looked at Ashton, his gaze fraught with uncertainty. All along, he had no idea just how powerful Ashton truly was. Could the man who’d disappeared for ten years truly be able to challenge an SS–ranked expert?
“I knew it!” Louie exclaimed from his hiding spot as he wiped the sweat off his brow. “Ashton’s in trouble now! This is why I didn’t want to make an enemy out of the Gale Assembly. Cadence has always been the most powerful among them!”
