A deadly silence overtook the place. The Gale Assembly members backed up several steps, none daring to come near Ashton.

“Mr. Suther…”

Someone helped Cadence back onto his feet.

“I’m fine,” he said.

After swallowing down the blood in his mouth, he stared dazedly at Ashton, who hadn’t budged at all.

He’d suffered a crushing defeat, one that he couldn’t challenge by any means.

“Now that we’ve settled that, it’s time for you to answer my question. Are you going to submit to me or die?” Ashton asked curtly.

Cadence’s expression was a little stormy. Out of the corner of his eye, he glanced at the core members of the Gale Assembly, contemplating whether they could duke it out with Ashton.

But in the end, he shook his head. Based on what he just found out about Ashton’s strength, he knew that if he initiated a fight to the very end with Ashton, the only result would be the total annihilation of the Gale Assembly.

“I’ll submit to you!” Cadence declared with a sigh before bowing low. “From now on, the Gale Assembly is entirely at your command!”

Gene was frozen in disbelief.

He couldn’t believe that Cadence had just submitted to Ashton, but he was thrilled all the same. This meant he’d won his gamble! Ashton was indeed the ticket to glory that he’d been waiting for!

Meanwhile, Louie was also dumbstruck to see that Cadence had submitted to Ashton.

“Oh, no…”

After seeing the look of pure joy on Gene’s face, Louie knew he’d chosen wrongly this time. He quickly called Walter and told him what happened.

“Such foolishness! How are you so incredibly foolish, you despicable boy! You useless boy!” Walter fumed over the phone. “Have you forgotten what I told you before? Either stay out of the game entirely or choose a side and stick with it! Never try to sit on the fence.

“So what if Gale Assembly is extremely powerful? Do you think Ashton is a fool? If he’d been confident enough to march over to their headquarters alone, surely there was a reason for that! Why did you back away in fear when he didn’t?”

Walter thoroughly lamented the situation. “Do you have any idea that you’ve just lost a chance to build a genuine friendship with Ashton and become a true confidante of his?”

“I know I made a mistake, Dad. Stop chewing me out over it!” Louie grumbled. “How should I know that Ashton’s that strong? I just didn’t want to go down with him…”

“Oh, shut up! Go in there and stand with Ashton right this instant! Remember to be as shameless as you can. You must continue to try and stick close to him!” Walter instructed sternly.

“You’ve already missed one opportunity. Don’t let any more of them slip you by! Also, didn’t I tell you to give Sally Greene to Ashton? Why haven’t you done it yet?

“Apart from her, keep a few other beautiful young women on standby. Be sure to pay attention to what Ashton needs. Do you understand me?”

“Got it, Dad!”

After ending the call, Louie stormed into the Gale Assembly headquarters at once and shouted at Cadence, “Mr. Gray is a good friend of mine, Mr. Suther! I’d die for him! If you dare treat him with any disrespect, you’ll be making an enemy out of me, too!”

Somehow, he managed to say that with a straight face.

Walter was right. He needed to be shameless at a time like this. At the very least, he needed to proclaim his stance so that he could continue hanging out with Ashton.

After all, Ashton was an SS–ranked expert!

Ashton simply shot Louie a glance without paying any further attention to him. Looking at Cadence, he

instructed, “Trent and Harrick Kramer had the nerve to come after my family. Their actions are unforgivable. Kill them, and make sure they die a slow, painful death.”

His gaze was icy. He’d never been a merciful man.

Once he saw the tearful Celia and the injured Renee, there was no chance in hell that he’d let the Kramers live.

“Understood!”

Cadence immediately walked up to Trent and Kramer.

“Don’t kill me, Mr. Suther-”

Cadence carried out Ashton’s instructions himself. Forming blades out of his inner energy, he repeatedly stabbed the two Kramers, killing them in a slow, torturous manner.

Once their howls of agony finally faded into silence, Cadence instructed his men, “Clean this up.”

Turning back to Ashton, he asked with an ingratiating smile, “What else do you need me to do, Mr. Gray? I’ll do whatever you ask of me, even at the cost of my life!”
