Chapter 129
Stanley’s heart seemed to stop for a split second. He carefully caught The Lustra with both hands and cradled it, unwilling to put it down.
From the very moment he’d set his eyes on the legendary diamond, he’d practically determined that it had to be real. Its complex structure was almost impossible to fake!
What’s more, the pure radiance it gave off made it clear that it was an extraordinary treasure that came from the core of the ocean. There was no mistaking it!
“Mr. Colson, what’s wrong?” Robert wasn’t stupid. A bad feeling surged in him when he saw how intoxicated Stanley looked.
Could the diamond… be real?
Roxy and Tanya were also startled.
“May I know whether you’re the current owner of The Lustra, Ms. Roxy?” Stanley looked at Roxy. He’d heard from Robert that someone had given the diamond to his sister, so he naturally assumed it was Roxy.
Roxy felt inexplicably uncomfortable and shook her head. “No, it’s my younger sister, Renee.‘
“It was a gift from Ashton, my brother–in–law!” Renee said proudly.
“So it’s you, Ms. Renee…” Stanley hesitated briefly.
Then, he gritted his teeth and said, “I’m willing to offer 50 million dollars to purchase The Lustra from you, Ms. Renee, Would you consider selling?”
His words made everyone present widen their eyes in shock.
“H–How much?” Robert gulped. “Mr. Colson, you’re not mistaken, are you? Isn’t this a fake diamond? Why would you want to buy it?”
“Mr. Robert, please watch your words!” Stanley said solemnly, “I never said this diamond was fake. I can stake my 30 years of professionalism that this is The Lustra, and it’s 100% genuine!”
“What?”
“If you don’t believe me, just look. Under strong light, The Lustra will display seven distinct colors that are interwoven.”
Stanley shone a beam of light onto The Lustra. Sure enough, it revealed seven different colors in crystal–clear clarity. It was dreamlike, ethereal, and breathtakingly beautiful.
Even a layperson could tell at a glance that the diamond was extremely valuable and absolutely not an imitation!
“How can this be?”
Robert stood there dumbfounded, muttering, “50 million dollars… That’s a whole lot of money…”
Though he was Roxy’s younger brother, his monthly allowance was only in the tens of thousands. He’d never seen that much money in his life.

Ashton, whom he’d always looked down on, had spent 50 million dollars in one go? Had the world gone mad?
Tanya’s face twitched. Her voice was hoarse as she cried, “There must be a mistake, Mr. Colson! How could Ashton possibly own a genuine diamond like The Lustra? That’s absolutely impossible. I don’t believe it!”
“Mrs. Sloan, are you questioning my appraisal ability?” Stanley’s expression turned cold.
“N–No, that’s not what I meant.”
Tanya panicked. Stanley was extremely distinguished in Javonbury and had plenty of connections. She couldn’t afford to offend him.
“Ms. Renee, what say you?” Stanley asked Renee.
She quickly took The Lustra back from him and cradled it protectively against her chest, shaking her head wildly. “I’m not selling it! It’s a gift from Ashton; I won’t sell, no matter how much you offer!”
Stanley refused to give up. “Ms. Renee, I truly adore The Lustra. How about this–I’ll offer 60 million dollars. That’s the absolute most I can put together!”
“No way!” Renee didn’t hesitate at all.
Stanley sighed, “Very well. Being able to see The Lustra with my own eyes is already an honor. Please take good care of this diamond, Ms. Renee. I believe that in a few years, its value will rise sharply.”
He could see Renee’s obvious adoration for the diamond, so he said regretfully, “I’ll take my leave now.” With that, he left the Sloan residence. Even then, Roxy and the other Sloans were still in a daze.
Roxy looked at The Lustra in Renee’s hand. For some reason, she felt a little uncomfortable. If she and Ashton hadn’t divorced, would the diamond now be hers? Was she… jealous of Renee?
She quickly pushed those thoughts out of her mind and gave Ashton a complicated look. Just as he’d said, whenever he clashed with her family, she would always believe her family first. She would always side with them to blame and reprimand him.
“The diamond has been appraised, and the truth is clear. Isn’t it time for you to get to your knees and apologize to me, Tanya?” Ashton asked coldly.
