“Why are you still wasting your breath on trash like him, Roxy?” Calvin asked. “Be a good girl and wait for me back at Summit Lounge. I’ve already prepared a ring for you!”

Calvin couldn’t wait to propose to Roxy. He wanted to make their relationship official as quickly as possible. As soon as he’d managed to conquer Roxy, that would mean the entire Summit Group would be under his control as well!

A while later, Ashton was brought into the police station in the Southern Javonbury Precinct.

Evermore Club suddenly fell into grave silence. Everyone looked solemn and melancholic. It felt as though something terrible was happening to them now.

Although Ashton kept saying he would be fine, they still thought he was just trying to comfort them.

“What should we do, Ms. Langley?” Felice asked anxiously.

She was feeling pessimistic about the situation.

“Don’t worry. Since Ashton said he’ll be fine, that means he’ll be fine,” Sylvia said, a cold gleam reflecting in her eyes.

She continued firmly, “If Conrad and the others really dare to lay a finger on Ashton, I will make them release him even if it means giving up Evermore Group for it!”

Her hands balled into fists. If push came to shove, then she wouldn’t hesitate to put everything on the line just to save Ashton, even if it meant sacrificing herself.

After all, Ashton was the one who had given her a second life.

“You don’t have to worry too much about this, Ms. Langley. I realized that Mr. Gray didn’t seem the least bit nervous earlier. And based on what I know about him, that means he knows what he’s doing and has a few tricks up his sleeve. Otherwise, he’d never offer to leave with them in the first place!” Gene said.

Louie nodded. “And if Mr. Gray wants to leave, then nobody can get in his way! I trust him. But we still need to do whatever we can to help.

“I’m going back to get my dad to continue pressuring the Southern Javonbury Precinct. I refuse to believe that it won’t affect Conrad in the slightest!”

Just as the group of people were discussing their plans, a business sedan rolled to a stop at the entrance to Evermore Club.

Nell got out of the car and walked over to Sylvia when he caught sight of her. “Ms. Langley, I have an appointment with Mr. Gray.”

Sylvia then briefly filled him in on the incident.

“Conrad Nell from the Southern Javonbury Precinct?” Neil repeated, his gaze suddenly turning icy. “Who gave him the authority?”

Nell’s last line was enough to make Gene and Louie weak in the knees, and they both nearly fell over in fright. Who was Neil, exactly, and why did he have such a dark, murderous aura around him? It was simply too frightening.

Neil quickly withdrew his aura and called Lawrence on the phone, telling him everything that had happened. A short while later, Lawrence’s frail yet furious voice sounded over the phone. “What in tarnation is this? Neil Bloomberg, dispatch the Northern Troops in Javonbury and have them surround the Southern Javonbury Precinct!

“Have them await Ashton’s instructions on how he wishes to handle them!”
