Kayla was frantic, Out of the corner of her eye, she’d noticed Neil leading Ashton in, but she didn’t pay them any attention at all. She simply couldn’t understand why Lawrence was insisting on meeting Ashton even in this

Christian carefully removed a few silver needles from Lawrence’s body. Frowning, he eventually sighed and shook his head, saying, “Mr. Clarkson Senior’s condition is extremely complicated.

“Strictly from a medical perspective, his body should’ve given out long ago. The fact that he’s held on until now is already a miracle. With my meager abilities, I’m afraid there’s nothing more I can do for him.”

“How could this be…”

Kayla felt her heart sink. Christian wasn’t the first renowned doctor to tell her that. All of the famous doctors they’d consulted in the past said Lawrence’s condition was beyond the help of medical professionals.

“All I can do now is try and prescribe something that can hopefully prolong his life as much as possible…” Christian added helplessly.

“How much time does my grandpa have left, Dr. Donahue?” Kayla murmured, her tears rolling down her cheeks.

After thinking for a moment, Christian replied, “A year, at most, and that’s only if Mr. Clarkson Senior cooperates with me. If he continues running around, ignoring medical advice, no one will be able to predict how much more time he has.”

“A year?”

Pale–faced, Kayla swayed on her feet.

Clay Jernigan, from the Dominion Vanguard, rushed forward to try to console her. “Don’t worry, Kayla! As long as Mr. Clarkson Senior cooperates with treatment, a miracle might happen! I will spare no effort to find the best medicine in the world to prolong his life!”

When he looked at her, his eyes burned with a fierce and possessive desire.

All of a sudden, Christian cried out in alarm, “Hey! What are you doing!”

Only then did everyone notice that Ashton had already approached Lawrence’s bedside without them noticing. After taking Lawrence’s pulse, he had inserted a silver needle directly into the center of Lawrence’s brow.

The news of Lawrence’s condition had already shaken her, and Ashton’s reckless actions only fueled her rage. She reached out to try and drag him away, but the moment her hand made contact with his shirt, a wave of energy burst forth, making her stumble several steps backward.

“How can you be so careless with your own health, Grandpa!” Kayla cried out anxiously.

“Mr. Clarkson Senior, your body can’t take any more stress. You should be getting as much rest as you can. You’ll only be worsening your condition if you let some nameless nobody treat you!” Christian chimed in.

His expression became displeased the moment he saw Ashton performing acupuncture on Lawrence. Wasn’t that akin to questioning his own medical skill?

“You heard him, Grandpa! Dr. Donahue says so as well!” Kayla exclaimed. “Ashton! Get your hands off my grandpa. I won’t let you touch him anymore!”
