Natalie continued, “Even if you can defeat Edmund in a fight, he has plenty of powerful connections. What if he summons people whom you can’t beat? What then? It’s not like violence solves everything in this world. We should at least have a proper plan before we do anything!”

Pouting, she added, “Besides, if you lose, that means I lose as well. I’ll not only have to treat Sheila with respect, but I’d even have to become Edmund’s side chick! I refuse to accept that. We’ll come back to this later on.”

“Nope. We’re dealing with it tonight. Let me meet Edmund and your friend. You’re going to acknowledge me as your master tonight!” Ashton insisted.

He wasn’t interested in playing this game with Natalie any longer. She would have to either submit to him completely or be left to fend for herself.

Natalie could sense his resolve. She paled at the thought of how she might’ve dug a hole for herself. “Are you sure you don’t want to reconsider? We’re talking about the Sage’s youngest son here…”

“There’s no need for me to reconsider. Either you take me over there to fulfill this bet with your friend, or I’ll leave, and you can find some other way to deal with the parasitic poison.”

“No, don’t go…”

Natalie quickly grabbed a hold of Ashton. She didn’t want to endure the pain of being tormented by the poison again. She wanted him to do his acupuncture treatments and massages that made her feel like she was on cloud

“We need to set things straight first. If you fail to get Edmund to admit that you’re the better man, I won’t acknowledge you as my master, but you must still treat me unconditionally until I make a full recovery!” she declared.

Ashton agreed to it. “If I fail to win this bet of yours, I’ll treat you for free.”

“It’s a deal,” Natalie said.

“Then let’s go. We’ll meet up with your friend and Edmund, the Sage’s youngest son.”

Ashton’s eyes glittered darkly.

Since his goal was to bring the entirety of Javonbury’s criminal underworld under one, sooner or later, he would have to take on the Sage.

“But before that, can you help Mr. Cresswell and the others?” Natalie asked.

Ashton nodded. “I’ll extract the parasitic poison from them. As for you, get changed and call up your friend Sheila. You’re destined to be mine tonight.”

“You’d better be as capable as you claim to be!”

Natalie shot one last look at Ashton before walking off.

When she came back in a new outfit, his eyes gleamed. He couldn’t stop his body from activating the Drakell technique. He had such a strong urge to take her now and ravage her.

Feeling his burning stare, Natalie flushed. “I’ve already contacted Sheila. She and Edmund are at Skybound Boxing. We can go straight there.”

“Let’s go.”
