Ashton had held no concern for the association between Calvin and Roxy since the divorce. Yet, Calvin, that worthless scoundrel, dared to set his sights on Renee. That act was an unforgivable offense to Ashton, and for that, Calvin deserved to die.
Upon meeting Ashton’s cold, profound gaze, Calvin’s trembling grew exponentially.
He stumbled toward Roxy in a panic, pleading wildly, “I know it’s all my fault, Roxy! It was the sheer depth of my love that led me to this grave error! I had no ill intent; I merely desired you above all things! You must help me plead with Ashton and don’t let him kill me, Roxy!”
Renee bellowed, “How could you be so utterly shameless! Get away from Roxy!”
She then turned to Renee and continued, “You can’t show him mercy now, Roxy! You and I would have been in deep trouble if it weren’t for Ashton’s timely intervention! You must not fall for Calvin’s lies!”
Having heard that, Roxy furrowed her brow.
Calvin immediately groveled before Roxy, battering his head repeatedly against the floor until his forehead was covered in blood.
“I’m the bastard! I’m absolute trash! I’m genuinely in love with you, though. I did all of this because I wanted you so badly. I was merely blinded by jealousy. I’ll accept any punishment you give me, but please don’t let me die, Roxy.”
He sobbed uncontrollably while pleading, “Please have mercy on me and convince Ashton not to kill me, Roxy! You’re probably the only one who can change his mind! I swear I’ll leave Casoria tonight and never return as long as I live, so please just grant me the chance to live!”
It was then that Ashton closed the distance, regarding Calvin with a frigid gaze. He had always believed that if an enemy sought his death, then he would ensure they met a gruesome end. Thus, he had already decided to offer Calvin no quarter tonight.
Upon sensing Ashton’s killing intent, Calvin pleaded desperately, “You have to save me, Roxy! You can’t just let me die since I’m your first love, right?”
“What do you think you’re doing, Ashton?” Roxy fixed her gaze on Ashton, feeling estranged by his familiar, well-
defined features.
She had previously never encountered such overwhelming force and command from him, as the Ashton she knew was always the one with a gentle, soft expression.
Ashton replied coldly, “I want to kill him! Calvin teamed up with Edmund to kill me! How could I spare him?”
Roxy bellowed, “How can you constantly talk about killing, Ashton! How did you become like this? Calvin may have erred, but his actions were not deserving of death!”
She then took a deep breath and, after a moment’s hesitation, said, “Calvin had already agreed to leave Casoria, so you should just let him go. You don’t have to take such extreme measures, as it’s always better to show mercy when you can afford it.”
Renee grew distressed and quickly exclaimed, “How could you possibly speak up for Calvin, Roxy!”
“Thank you so much, Roxy! I vow never to return; I’ll reside overseas for the remainder of my days! I also won’t interfere with your life anymore!” Calvin staggered to his feet in a panic, attempting to flee Orchid Pavilion Resort
as sheer terror seized him.
“Have I granted you permission to leave?” Ashton snapped coldly, causing a raw, overwhelming power to crash

down on Calvin’s shoulders.
Calvin’s shoulders shattered with two sickening cracks, and the overwhelming power forced him to his knees with a violent slam. “I know I’m in the wrong, Ashton! I hope you can spare me for Roxy’s sake! I won’t compete with you for her ever again. I’ll never contact her again. I’ll even wish you both a lifetime of happiness, bound by everlasting devotion!”
