Hazel stared at Ashton, growing more excited by the second. The fact that he dared to be this disrespectful toward Flint only made her want to subdue him even more.
Flint pondered for a moment before waving his hand. Instantly, the murderous hostility in the air vanished.
“I didn’t expect you to come prepared, Mr. Gray,” Flint commented with a sneer.
The Legion might’ve declined over the years, but as long as Lawrence was still alive, no one could afford to underestimate them. Anyone who wanted to lay a hand on a legionnaire had to think twice.
“Is there anything else, Mr. Vance? If not, I’ll be on my way,” Ashton said calmly.
Rhonda cried out, “Flint! Have you forgotten how miserably Eddie died? How can you let Eddie’s murderer walk away?”
Hazel jumped in, “Exactly, Dad! It’s been ages since you last made an example out of someone. Plenty of powerful people are watching us right now. If you let Ashton walk out of Grandcrest Estate alive today, it’ll be a huge blow to your reputation!”
Clive and Ivan, however, stayed silent.
After frowning for a while, Flint abruptly smiled.
“Mr. Gray, I’ve heard stories of your early fame and exceptional martial skill. I have a mentee who has been with me for 20 years. Why don’t you two have a friendly duel? At least your trip to Grandcrest Estate won’t be a waste. I’m sure that someone of your current status wouldn’t decline my invitation, right?”
As soon as he finished speaking, a massive man standing beside him came forward, making the floor quake with each step.
“My name is Nelson Osborne. I look forward to learning from you, Mr. Gray. Today, we won’t be fighting to determine the victor. We will be fighting to see who walks away alive.”
Nelson’s voice was brimming with confidence. Even his presence seemed terrifying. With just a single look, Ashton could sense how formidable Nelson was.
“Of course, you’re free to decline, but…” Flint paused for a moment to sneer. “If you dare not accept the challenge, that means you’ve lost without even giving it a shot, so you’ll have to crawl out of here on your knees today. Let everyone outside know that you’re nothing more than a useless coward, and let the world see that this is all a legionnaire amounts to. Even the Legion is nothing but a relic of the past.”
“Take my advice and just admit you’ve lost, Ashton!” Hazel mocked. “Nelson is Dad’s favored mentee. He’s already reached the semi–transcendent realm, and when he uses his full force, even an expert of the transcendent realm won’t be able to stand against him!”
With bloodshot eyes, Rhonda snarled, “You dared to kill my son, Ashton. Don’t tell me you dare not take the challenge now! What happened to all your earlier arrogance,
arrogance, huh?”
“Who said I dared not accept the challenge?”
Looking at Flint, Ashton said coldly, “I’m willing to have a duel with your mentee, Mr. Vance, and I’m not interested in meaningless fights. Since it’s a duel to the death, there should at least be a reward at stake.”
“What do you want?” Flint asked.

Ashton’s eyes glinted dangerously. After glancing at Rhonda and Hazel, he arrogantly declared, “If I win, then you will no longer be able to question me for killing Edmund.”
“So be it! What else?” Flint pressed again, knowing full well Damian would have other things in mind.
Ashton continued, “If I win, Rhonda and Hazel will become my servants–completely mine to command. What do you say, Mr. Vance?”
Ever since he entered Grandcrest Estate, those two women had been targeting him. Naturally, he was going to get
even with them.
› If he used the Drakell technique, both Rhonda and Hazel would be of use to strengthen his cultivation, so there
was no harm in claiming them for himself.
Besides, he wanted to use them to get a better understanding of Flint, for the latter was an extremely dangerous
enemy.
