Ashton’s domineering voice boomed across the arena, filling it with an imposing air that even made Nelson’s own terrifying presence weaken by comparison.
Flint’s gaze hardened as a flicker of unease washed over him. He realized Ashton had been hiding his true power before.
Still, he didn’t worry too much. Nelson was his prized mentee. Within this tiny arena, his massive stature ensured that he could wield enough force to crush any opponent before him.
Besides, Nelson also had the Activator Pill. How could Ashton stand a chance of winning?
Flint was certain that the technique in Ashton’s hands would inevitably be his.
A murderous tension filled the air as Flint’s subordinates gathered all around, their eyes flashing dangerously. They were going to make sure nothing unexpected happened.
“Get on with it. Don’t let him underestimate us!” Flint commanded in his gravelly voice.
“Yes, sir!”
Nelson’s bearing changed. His eyes focused with fierce ferocity, and his muscles bulged as a wave of commanding power rolled off him. The very air seemed to buckle under the intensity of his murderous intent.
Flint had taken Nelson as his mentee when the latter was still a child. He was naturally gifted with a body perfectly suited for the martial path, and he was able to wield strength that far exceeded the limits of his cultivation.
Crouching like a hungry predator, he locked onto Ashton and exuded the force of a semi–transcendent realm expert as he dashed forward. His figure became a blur as he moved with lightning speed. Even space seemed to warp around him.
The wind howled, sealing off Ashton’s escape.
At a glance, it seemed as though Ashton was a sitting duck, waiting to be slaughtered.
“Excellent!” Clive called out approvingly. “Nelson has grown even stronger, Dad. He can easily take down Ashton.”
Ivan nodded along, saying, “Looks like there won’t be any surprises, Dad. How dare Ashton make an enemy out of us anyway? It’s an act of suicide.”
Flint’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction as well. Stroking his jaw, he remarked, “Nelson trains tirelessly to get stronger, and he’s blessed with a natural gift, too. The force he’s able to unleash in an instant is enough to crush anyone in front of him.”
Rhonda and Hazel looked thrilled as well. They couldn’t wait to hear Ashton howling in pain and see him suffering a miserable defeat.
But at the very next moment, the ferocious punch that came flying at Ashton brushed right past his ear.
“Nelson missed?”
Everyone was shocked. No one could figure out how Ashton managed to avoid the attack.
Nelson faltered briefly as well, but he soon caught himself. His bones cracked as he started throwing even more punches, his speed increasing as well. He slowly closed in on Ashton, limiting the space Ashton could use to avoid the attacks.

But to his shock, Ashton seemed to be able to find a way to dodge the attack every time–always managing to deduce where he would be throwing his punch.
Nelson frowned, and when he met Ashton’s gaze, his eyes stung. He felt as though he’d fallen into the pits of hell, and for a moment, he felt dazed.
“What’s going on? Why is Nelson moving so slowly? Why are his moves so clumsy?”
“Nelson isn’t the one who’s slowed down. Ashton’s just too fast! I can’t believe that Ashton’s still able to dance circles around him even in such a small space.”
“Hmph! He’s only delaying the inevitable by avoiding the attacks. Soon, he’ll be comered!”
Nelson’s relentless assault continued, his eyes bloodshot as he continued to try to inch closer to Ashton, yet the gnawing unease in his heart only grew.
