Nelson’s body strained against itself. With clenched fists, he launched a punch aimed straight at Ashton’s face, one that contained the force of a true transcendent realm expert.
“Now that’s a little better, but even your fullest effort is still laughable. This is the gap between us!” Ashton declared.
He slowly opened his palm, revealing the wisps of formidable energy swirling above it.
When Nelson tried to smash his fist against Ashton’s palm, his expression changed dramatically. His eyes filled with horror when he realized that, despite giving it his all, he didn’t even manage to hit Ashton squarely in the palm, for an invisible force held his fist at bay.
At the very next moment, the backlash hit him, sending him flying.
Half his body seemed to explode. Blood flew from his mouth as he flew backward, crashing onto the edge of the arena. The arm he’d used to throw the punch now hung limp beside him.
“This can’t be happening!” Nelson roared hysterically.
He couldn’t accept the price of defeat.
Even as his body wracked with intense pain, he let out another fearsome roar. Gritting his teeth, he used his other arm to throw a punch at Ashton. He swung his arm over and over again, his strikes rapid and urgent.
Alas, Ashton simply used his inner energy to form a protective barrier that kept Nelson at a foot’s distance the
whole time.
“No matter what attack you use or what sacrifices you make to boost your strength, you won’t be able to harm me. The disparity between us is like heaven and the earth. You’ll never be able to cross that distance. Just concede defeat,” Ashton said coldly.
Another wave of force threw Nelson across the arena, his wounds splitting even further. He was now completely covered in blood, and his breathing was slowly weakening.
Nelson lowered his head. It was hard for him to accept this reality. He could discern that Ashton was using the strength of someone who’d reached the semi–transcendent realm. He was the one with the power of giants! He’d trained his body for two decades now!
Yet, he’d lost.
“How could this be… I don’t want to be Ashton’s servant! I’d rather die than be humiliated by him!” Hazel shrieked, feeling a little scared now.
She knew what Flint was like. While it seemed like he doted on her very much, if needed, he would sacrifice her without hesitation.
Rhonda clenched her thighs tightly. The sweat–soaked purple dress she wore revealed the lace edges of her bra and clung to her curves, accentuating them even more.
Out of nowhere, Flint rasped icily, “Nelson! You haven’t lost yet! What are you waiting for?”
Nelson stiffened. At last, he remembered the Activator Pill Flint had given him.
“Don’t blame me for this, Ashton. If anything, it’s your fault. You should never have offended the Sage!”
Without a second thought, Nelson swallowed the Activator Pill, which took effect immediately. It coursed through

his organs, pushing his body beyond its natural limits.
He let out a piercing howl as his body began to transform. His veins seemed to explode, for his blood started. spraying everywhere. It was a truly ghastly sight.
This was the result of consuming the Activator Pill. After all, the power had to come from somewhere. There would always be a price to pay.
“Relying on drugs, are we?”
Ashton glanced at Nelson, but he didn’t seize this chance to strike. Instead, he looked at Flint and questioned, ‘ Don’t you think this counts as playing dirty, Mr. Vance?”

Staring right back at Ashton, Flint declared coldly, “When you’re in the arena, the only thing that matters is winning. Only children speak of playing fair.”
