Chapter 289
“Give the order, Dad! Tell them to kill Ashton!” Ivan urged coldly. “We can’t let Ashton walk out of Grandcrest Estate alive. Otherwise, if word got out about what happened today, it’d be a blow to your dominance!”
Clive also chimed in, “Now’s not the time to think about the bet, Dad. As long as he’s dead, who would ever find out about the bet? We can’t let Ms. Lott and Hazel end up in his hands!”
The air only grew colder as the surge of murderous intent thickened.
However, it was as if Ashton hadn’t noticed a thing. He was still enjoying the warmth of having Hazel’s and Rhonda’s bodies pressed against him.
Looking at Flint, he said, “If there’s nothing else, Mr. Vance, I’ll take my leave now. I’ll be sure to drop by for a visit some other time.”
With his arms still wrapped around Hazel and Rhonda, he turned to leave.
However, before he even took two steps, over a dozen experts formed a wall in front of him, blocking his path.
Smirking, Ashton asked, “Are you a sore loser, Mr. Vance?”
Flint, who’d been silent the whole time, stared closely at Ashton. His voice became even hoarser as he said darkly, “You live up to your reputation, Mr. Gray. You’ve reached the transcendent realm before you’re even 30 years old. No one else in Javonbury can claim to have done the same.
“Even when I was your age, I didn’t achieve the heights you have achieved.”
Stroking the women’s waists, Ashton said coolly, “You flatter me, Mr. Vance!”
“But have you heard of a saying, Mr. Gray? Too much is as bad as too little. Being too firm will only make you break all the more easily,” Flint said coldly. “Leave them behind, and hand over the Drakell technique. Then, I’ll consider this matter over.”
Ashton snorted. “That goes against the bet we made, Mr. Vance. I still have the agreement with me. If word got out that you can’t even keep your word, Mr. Vance, how are you going to keep ruling over the criminal underworld of Javonbury? How will you convince others to trust you?”
Narrowing his eyes, he reminded Flint, “Beware the power of public opinion, Mr. Vance. All it takes to crumble an empire is a single mishap.”
Flint’s gaze hardened as he continued to stare at Ashton. Once again, he was convinced that Ashton had come prepared.
From the looks of it, the Legion did indeed have its sights set on him.
Scoffing, Flint declared, “You’re right, but first, you have to make it out of here alive. The dead won’t talk.”
“Kill him, Dad!” Hazel squealed, her eyes brightening.
She couldn’t stand the touch of his hand as it roamed over hier any longer. It made her feel immensely uncomfortable. She was Flint’s daughter, someone that no one could disrespect! How could she let a lowly man like Austin take advantage of her like that!
“Flint…” Rhonda begged.
The thought of waiting on the man who killed her son filled her with a suffocating pain.

The murderous intent swept over like a storm once more as the experts inched their way closer to Ashton, awaiting Flint’s command.
“I’ll give you one last chance, Ashton. I don’t wish to burn all bridges with you either. If you release Hazel and Rhonda and hand over the Drakell technique, we can be friends. What do you say? You’ll be able to roam freely in Javonbury with nothing and no one capable of stopping you!” Flint said, his voice booming.
He didn’t want to resort to extremes if he could somehow broker peace with Ashton.
“I won’t be giving you the Drakell technique. As for your lover and daughter, they’re already my playthings, so I won’t be handing them over either. You can forget about us becoming friends, too. You’re not worthy!” Ashton arrogantly declared.
Those last three words ignited the murderous rage in Flint’s eyes. He ordered, “Kill
