As Ashton’s murderous presence drew closer, Rhonda finally broke down. Her legs flailed against the floor, and her expression twisted in terror.

Scoffing, he bent down and lifted her. He wiped away the blood on her chest and sent a wisp of inner energy into the wound, stabilizing her condition.

“Now that’s a good girl,” he said with a smile. “If you don’t want to die, then behave yourself. I plan on taking down the Sage, and you’re still useful to me.”

Held in his arms, Rhonda could feel their bodies pressed together. Although she felt humiliated, she didn’t dare to resist in any way. She felt her heart sink at the thought of this.

She now knew she’d ended up in the hands of the devil. All she could do now was hope that the people Flint sent could kill this devil, rescuing both her and Hazel.

“Shall we make a bet, too, Ms. Lott?” Ashton asked, still smirking.

He knew very well that Rhonda would be even harder to tame than Hazel. Her hatred for him ran deep. Even if he forced himself on her physically, he could never truly win her heart, and he didn’t like forcing himself on others.

He very much preferred seeing these beautiful women willingly submitting to his desires.

“What’s the wager?” Rhonda asked.

Even as her body felt weak and tingly, she continued to glare at him in resentment. She’d made up her mind to kill him if she ever got the chance and avenge Edmund.

“We’ll wager your body and your loyalty,” Ashton said.

His eyes roamed over her curves, the lust ignited by the Drakell technique still going strong.

“And what’s the bet?” Rhonda asked quietly, no longer resisting Ashton.

“I know you hate the Sage as well, right? Thanks to an old man like him, you’re doomed to this meaningless life. You’re like a bird kept in a cage, with no freedom to speak of,” Ashton said.

Rhonda remained silent. She hated Flint, of course, and it wasn’t only for the reason Ashton gave.

“Who do you think will win this deadly battle between the Sage and me?” he asked, smiling as he rubbed one of her earlobes.

It was a sensitive spot for her. Her legs trembled. She wanted to resist, but he kept her tightly locked in his arms.

“The Sage, of course!” Rhonda snarled in fury. “You have no idea just how powerful he is. If you go against him, you’re destined to fail. You’re just fighting a losing battle! You might not even live past tonight!”

“In that case, we’ll bet on who survives this fight between the Sage and me, then. If I remove the Sage’s head, you’ll submit to me and become mine. If I lose, well, I’ll die, and you’ll get to witness my death. That’ll be a form of revenge, too. How about it?” Ashton offered with a grin.

After thinking in silence for a moment, Rhonda nodded. “Alright, but before that happens, you’re not allowed to have sex with me!”

“I can’t have sex with you?” He patted her cheek and snorted. “The Sage can do it with you, but I can’t? Do you think you’re that precious?”
