Tanya’s face was as pale as a sheet. Even as she spoke, she was clutching her abdomen in pen and growing in pain.

“Mom! Ashton was completely outrageous! Not only did he refuse to give us the medication, but he even slapped me! Thank God he and Roxy have officially filed for a divorce. Otherwise, we never would’ve known this is the kind of person he truly is!”

Robert’s face twisted with rage at the thought of Ashton.

“Ashton won’t give you the medication?” Tanya’s eyes bulged as she slammed a hand on the table in anger. Bert soon after that, she cried out sharply, “The pain is killing me!”

Roxy held Tanya and reassured her, “I got Dr. Silas Chapman to come over, Mom. He’s an expert in gastroenterology. I’m sure you’ll feel better soon!”

“You’ll be fine, Mrs. Sloan. You can trust me on that! This is my friend, lan Walsh. He studied abroad and was mentored by a chief of gastroenterology who is one of the top experts abroad. With him to help you, you’ll certainly be cured of your stomach disorder!

“If I’d known about your condition, Mrs. Sloan, I would’ve asked him to treat you ages ago. You wouldn’t have had to rely on any sort of medication all these years!” Calvin declared with a look of utmost confidence.

He figured it was just a minor stomach ailment. If even Ashton knew how to keep Tanya’s condition in check, then it would be a breeze for his friend, Ian.

Once lan successfully treated Tanya’s stomach disorder, Roxy would be extremely grateful toward him–and he would be able to get her in bed tonight!

“Quick, get on with it…” Tanya gasped, her forehead covered in sweat.

Silas and Ian both checked on Tanya, using the most cutting–edge equipment they had, but they all ended up shaking their heads with matching helpless expressions.

“Dr. Chapman, Dr. Walsh, what’s the deal with my mom’s stomach disorder? Why is she in so much pain?” Roxy asked anxiously. “Please do think of a way to treat her as quickly as possible!”

However, both men exchanged glances before shaking their heads again. Even after using the most advanced technology available, they couldn’t even figure out what was wrong with Tanya, let alone treat her.

“I apologize, Ms. Sloan, but it’s my first time encountering a condition like this. Do forgive me for my limited knowledge. I’m afraid I can’t treat her,” Silas confessed with a sigh.

“What about you, Ian? Don’t tell me you can’t treat her either,” Calvin said before tugging on lan’s sleeve and lowering his tone. “Didn’t you study abroad and major in gastroenterology? What’s so hard about treating a simple stomach ailment?

“Even someone who never studied medicine could treat her, so why can’t you? I have a lot at stake here. This will heavily affect my future. Don’t fail me now!”

“This is truly beyond me, Calvin. Whatever Mrs. Sloan’s disorder is, it has penetrated every single cell in her stomach. Even removing part of her stomach won’t resolve the issue. This is an untreatable condition!

“Wait. Did you just say someone could treat this condition? Who could possibly possess such skill? Even my own mentor has his hands tied with such a challenging disorder!” Ian exclaimed in shock.

Silence filled the room. No one spoke.

“My brother–in–law can!” Renee blurted out. “Mom never had any issues with her stomach when he was around. She was able to live her life happily every single day. She never had to endure such pain!”

Roxy and everyone else present froze, their expressions darkening.

“Why are you even bringing this up now, Renee?” Robert snapped angrily. “Maybe Mom’s condition wasn’t this severe at first, and Ashton is the one who made it worse!”

“Yes! That’s right! Ashton must’ve done something!” Calvin expressed his agreement before wiping the cold sweat from his brow.

Earlier, he’d confidently promised that Ian could treat Tanya’s stomach disorder. But now that Ian had proven to be completely helpless, he had to find a way to salvage his dignity.

“I feel like I’m going to die from the pain, Roxy…” Tanya moaned. “Hurry up and think of something!”
