Burt had led the death squad on countless missions of various scales, but never had he felt so powerless and terrified as he did tonight.
They hadn’t even managed to get anywhere near Ashton, whose scornful gaze humiliated every single one of them.
“I’ll crush every bone in your body, Ashton! I’ll tear you limb from limb! I’ll make you suffer all the pain in the world!” Burt howled as he glared venomously at Ashton.
Many of the ones who died were people he considered his brothers.
“You’ve got quite the gift of the gab, but can you back up your threats?” Ashton said coldly. “You don’t even have the power to reach me. How could you possibly make me suffer?”
“Once the array ends, you’re done for!” Burt hollered back, his murderous rage thickening.
The moment the deadly array stopped, he would lead his men in a swift ambush of Ashton, making sure Ashton had no room to fight back at all. He’d put a quick end to this fight!
“But what if it won’t end?” Ashton asked with a dark smile.
Burt felt his heart sink, a chill washing over him. He looked up in horror. “W–What did you say?”
“The second stage of the Culling Formation is about to begin. Are you ready?” Ashton questioned icily.
The dark flames in Ashton’s eyes burned even brighter. Two streams of blood dripped down from his eyes as he waved his hand, channeling his inner energy once more into the array’s core. Upon being reactivated, it began unleashing an even more terrifying wave of murderous energy.
In an instant, the previously dimming lights flared brilliantly, intertwining with each other. It was as if a pair of dragon eyes had flickered open up above, its gaze once again locking onto every person within the array.
The wind howled as the murderous flashes of dark light took form once more.
“What’s going on?”
“How could this be!”
“What should we do…”
Even the strongest, most resolute assassins were now panicking hard. Their legs trembled. They felt as though death had come knocking.
“What kind of deadly array is this? How can it be sustained for so long?” Burt roared, his throat dry from despair.
“Ashton! If you dare keep this array going, when I get my hands on you, I’ll skin you alive! I’ll make you suffer a pain worse than death!”
Despite his threats, however, his voice sounded weak.
Eyeing him coldly, Ashton retorted, “Don’t you think it’s hilarious that you’re making empty threats like these right now? Since you’re the death squad, you should be prepared to die if you fail your mission.
“Well, time to die, all of you!”
Ashton lowered his hand. Instantly, the flashes of murderous light came raining down in a vicious loop until every last ounce of the array’s spiritual energy was used up.

Piercing howls rang from every corner.
After a few minutes, only a handful of the death squad assassins were still alive. Over 90 lifeless bodies were now piled on top of the pool of blood, the mangled bodies an indication of how gruesomely they’d died.
The survivors swayed on their feet, covered in blood. Their gazes were devoid of any determination to fight. Nothing but horror remained.
Even Burt was sporting multiple wounds and panting heavily, feeling like he had barely survived a calamity.
Ashton looked down at the blood and mangled corpses, his gaze murderous. Sliding one hand under Rhonda’s bra, he asked with a smile, “Do you like what you see?”
