He didn’t want to die.

“Please, Ashton. Please save my dad…” Sheila pleaded as she stopped Ashton from leaving. “I’ll apologize to you on his behalf.”

At the end of the day, Kenneth was still her father. She couldn’t just stand back and watch as he died.

Meanwhile, as Ashton studied Sheila’s bashful expression, the Drakell technique activated on its own. He had to admit it sounded pretty good to hear her speak so affectionately to him.

“Please save my life, Mr. Gray…” Kenneth begged again.

Nadine also stepped forward, saying, “Mr. Gray, please save Mr. Beldon. I’ll be eternally grateful to you, and I’ll owe you a favor.”

“Are your favors worth a lot? I don’t need it,” Ashton retorted curtly.

Nadine’s expression stiffened. Again, it was the first time a man ever looked down on her like that! She had to take a deep breath to suppress her anger.

“Mr. Beldon’s condition only worsened because the Energy Condensation Pill I gave him triggered the malevolent energy. I have to be responsible for that. If you manage to save him, you can state anything you want from me.”

Ashton swept his gaze over her angelic face and her striking figure. Smirking, he asked, “Are you sure it’s anything I want?”

“First of all, make Sheila the chairwoman of Beldon Group, and give her 50 percent of the shares. She must have full authority over the company,” Ashton said.

“Never!” Jane shrieked, no longer able to keep her composure.
