Jane laughed hysterically, her hair a wild mess. “You’re such a fool, Kenneth! I was so close! Just a little more, and the entire Beldon Group would’ve been minel”
Hearing that, Kenneth was so enraged that he spat out a mouthful of blood, stumbling backward as if struck by a devastating blow. He had neglected his own daughter for Jane and Bradley, nearly burying Beldon Group in the
process.
“Take them away!” His voice was weak as he waved dismissively.
Even as she was dragged off, Jane kept cursing Kenneth, all traces of her earlier tenderness gone.
“Shelly, I’ve failed you… I’ll transfer all of Beldon Group’s shares to you. From now on, you’ll be the chairwoman of Beldon Group. You’re free to make any decision you want.”
Kenneth spoke feebly, seeming to age years in an instant.
“Dad…” Sheila supported him, at a loss for words as she stared at his ashen face.
He slowly collapsed. Just as the malevolent energy was about to consume him completely, Ashton flicked his wrist, driving 12 silver needles into Kenneth’s key acupoints. He channeled his inner energy and forcibly suppressed the chaotic malevolent energy.
From the very beginning of the treatment, Ashton had left himself a safeguard just in case Kenneth broke his promise. Human nature was hard to trust, after all.
“Initiate!”
A dark gleam flashed in Ashton’s eyes as he worked the Ninefold Arcane Technique, drawing the malevolent energy out of Kenneth’s body strand by strand.
Within a few breaths, color returned to Kenneth’s face. The air of death around him dissipated completely; the illness was cured. Only now, instead of his earlier excitement, Kenneth wore an expression of deep exhaustion.
He was like a deflated balloon after learning that Bradley wasn’t his blood and seeing Jane’s viciousness laid bare. He was drained of hope for everything.
“Dad, are you feeling better?” Sheila asked, worried.
At that, Kenneth’s eyes finally found focus. He looked at her and said gently, “Shelly, I’m sorry about what I did to you… You’re all grown up now. That’s wonderful. Leaving Beldon Group to you puts me at ease. From here on out, I’m done with all this.”
He immediately ordered the share transfer agreement to be prepared. Soon, he signed it and convened a board meeting that very day to announce his retirement, handing Beldon Group over entirely to Sheila.
With that done, he lay back down, so weak that he immediately drifted off to sleep.
“Let’s go.” Ashton wrapped an arm around Shella and murmured, “It’s time to show me some of your love and
care,”
Sheila gasped and flushed. She shot him a shy glare, already feeling a bit anxious. She had no idea what he would

put her through; she was completely inexperienced.
“Be gentle with me…”
After everything that had happened, she no longer resisted him. All she felt was admiration and love for a man as strong as he. She was even wondering how she would compete with Natalie for his affection!
Just as Ashton was about to lead Sheila away, Nadine reached out to stop him. She looked as ethereal as a fairy in her flowing white outfit, but her face was still frosty. She gave off a holy air that made her seem untouchable.
“You need something?”
Ashton ran his eyes over her drop–dead gorgeous figure. His Drakell technique stirred restlessly.
He had to admit that Nadine wasn’t just stunning in terms of her body and looks–she carried herself with an otherworldly grace that made all men want to drag her off her pedestal and claim her for himself.
“Dr. Gray, please take me as your mentee!”
Her face burned as Ashton’s gaze landed on it, but she still bowed politely as she spoke.
