Chapter 39
As Ashton made his way toward the villa, anyone who got within kicking distance of him was sent flying, no exceptions. In just moments, over a dozen men had been brought down, writhing and groaning in pain on the floor.
He kicked open the door and called out in a booming voice, “Kindly come out and see me, Mr. Holt Senior!”
“Who dares act this belligerently on the Holt Crew’s turf!”
Several middle–aged men with fierce, commanding demeanors leapt out at once. At the same time, a younger man slowly pushed out an elderly figure in a wheelchair.
The man in the wheelchair was none other than Walter Holt, the head of the Holt Crew. Everyone addressed him as Mr. Holt Senior. The young man behind him was his son, Louie Holt.
“It’s been a while, Mr. Holt Senior,” Ashton said as he looked at Walter, undaunted by the fact that he was surrounded by expert fighters.
Walter studied him for a long moment. Then, his gaze lit up with realization as he exclaimed in shock, “You’re… Mr. Gray?”
“I didn’t expect you to still remember me,” Ashton said. “Thinking about it now, it’s been ten years since we last met. Congratulations on maintaining control over the mighty Holt Crew. It seems to be flourishing more than ever, too.”
“So, it’s been ten years, huh…” Walter remarked with a melancholic note in his voice. “Back then, the legendary tales about you were the talk of the town. Ever since you walked away from our world, we haven’t had as many fiery stories to pass around.
“However… Don’t you think you’re being a little too disrespectful by showing up here unannounced, Mr. Gray? Or perhaps you think we’re all pushovers here?”
“I simply seek your help for an urgent matter, Mr. Holt Senior,” Ashton replied.
“Oh? I’m guessing it must be quite a major crisis for you to forgo all sense of propriety and barge in here like this. Nevertheless, we have our rules here at the Hold Crew. I’m more than happy to discuss whatever pressing matter you have.
“However, you’ve broken the rules by marching up here and attacking my men. According to the rules of our world, you’ll need to prostrate yourself before me and beg for my forgiveness!” Walter commented in a raspy voice.
“That being said, I don’t wish to make things difficult for you. How’s this? As long as you kneel before me and apologize, I’ll consider this matter over. Once you do that, we can sit down for a proper chat.”
Everyone’s eyes lit up. They all knew that this was Walter’s attempt to establish his authority.
“I’m afraid you won’t be able to see me ever kneeling before you, Mr. Holt Senior,” Ashton replied, his voice turning icy.
“Is that so? That only makes me even more determined to make it happen. Todd, go ahead and see what Mr. Gray is capable of.”

“Yes, Mr. Holt Senior!”
Todd Abrams was Walter’s bodyguard and a B–ranked expert. He’d trained in martial arts from a young age and possessed incredible stamina. In fact, he was alarmingly powerful in close combat.
However, the moment Todd took a step forward, Ashton struck first by lunging at Todd as if he were an arrow shooting through the air.
Todd was swift to react as well.
“You’ve got a death wish!”
Scoffing, he braced himself, flexing his muscles as he met Ashton head–on. The two of them collided like boulders crashing into each other, letting out a thunderous sound.
At the very next second, the sound of snapping bones rang out. Todd, who was over six feet tall, was sent flying, only stopping when he crashed into a wall.
He fell to the floor, his body in total agony. Even though he made a few attempts, he couldn’t get back on his feet. Everyone was shaken by this sight.
Clapping, Walter said, “As expected of you, Mr. Gray! It’s true that heroes remain heroes at any age. Come. Have a seat. Go ahead and tell me what you need.”
“I want to know the location where the Wraiths set sail.”
At the mention of the Wraiths, the atmosphere in the entire villa thickened with hostility. A group of martial art fighters stepped forward, closing in on Ashton.
Even Walter’s expression had shifted slightly.
“What’s the meaning of this, Mr. Gray? The Wraiths are a notorious criminal organization. What does it have to do with the Holt Crew? We are all law–abiding citizens here!”
“The Holt Crew controls the entire maritime shipping industry in Javonbury. Everything happens under your nose. Even if you don’t have any dealings with the Wraiths, Mr. Holt Senior, I’m sure you know which port they use. I hope you can tell me the truth.”
