Chapter 38
Once Ashton finished speaking, he left in a hurry, vanishing from sight.
“Look at him trying to act all tough and capable! What does he think he can do when even Captain Gibson and the legionnaires can’t do anything right now? He’s absolutely ridiculous!” Calvin spat out.
Ever since he returned to the country, Ashton had treated him with utter disdain. That only made him despise Ashton all the more. He swore he would take everything that belonged to Ashton.
“Ms. Sloan, please trust the Legion,” Eunice said as she ushered Roxy onto a seat.
“I believe in Ashton more, Roxy!” Renee said firmly, “Since Ashton said he’ll bring Celia back, he’ll definitely do
“How can you be so foolish, Renee? Why do you believe everything Ashton says? Who does he think he is? God?” Calvin scoffed in contempt.
However, Renee said firmly, “Think about it, Roxy! When has Ashton ever failed to fulfill a promise? He’s a man of his word!”
Feeling the pain from her burning cheek, Roxy snapped icily, “He’d better be able to do something!”
Meanwhile, off to the side, Hector had watched as Ashton left with a thoughtful expression on his face.
After leaving the police station, Ashton got back into the car and floored the gas while giving Gene a call.
“To what do I owe the honor of this call, Mr. Gray? I’ve just gotten my hands on a few bottles of excellent wine, and I’d love to have the opportunity to share a few drinks with you!” Gene enthused.
Ashton got straight to the point and asked, “Is the maritime shipping industry in Javonbury still under the control of the Holt Crew?”
“Why are you asking about the maritime shipping industry, Mr. Gray? Are you interested in venturing into the business? If that’s the case, we could collaborate-”
“Just answer my question!” Ashton snapped, his voice hardening.
Jolting, Gene quickly replied, “That’s right, Mr. Gray. The Holt Crew has basically monopolized the maritime transport industry in Javonbury. No one else can compete with them.”
“Got it. Is Walter Holt, the head of the Holt Crew, still living at the Paradise Estate?” Ashton kept his foot on the accelerator, the murderous look in his eyes intensifying
He was aware of the Wraiths‘ methods and knew that, for the time being, no harm could come to Celia. But there were no guarantees in life, and he couldn’t afford to risk it. He had to find her right away!
“He is. Are you looking for Mr. Holt Senior, Mr. Gray?”
“I’ve got something to ask him.”
Picking up on the hostility in Ashton’s tone, Gene forewarned him quietly, “Mr. Gray, the Holt Crew has

recruited quite a few expert fighters recently, and Mr. Holt Senior himself is an A–ranked expert. The Paradise Estate is crawling with experts right now. It’s best if you proceed with caution…”
“Understood. I’m ending the call now.”
Ashton sped all the way to the Paradise Estate.
“Is another storm about to besiege Javonbury’s underworld?” Gene wondered, his gaze tense.
Keeping his voice low, he instructed one of his men, “Send a few quick–witted men to the Paradise Estate. Tell them to keep an eye on the situation and let me know immediately if anything happens!”
The roar of the Lamborghini’s engine split the air as it tore into the Paradise Estate–the base of the Holt Crew’s operations.
“Stop the car! Stop at once!”
Security guards were stationed outside the Paradise Estate. The area was tightly secured. However, Ashton kept driving right through, only coming to a stop outside the villa within the Paradise Estate.
When he got out of the car, more than a dozen members of the Holt Crew surrounded him, each sporting menacing expressions. Several of them had guns strapped to their belts.
They were ready to fire at the slightest threatening move from Ashton.
“Where’s Walter Holt? Tell him Mr. Gray is here to ask a few questions!” Ashton said outright.
“Mr. Gray?”
The men exchanged puzzled looks–none of them knew who that was.
It’d been ten years since Ashton left the criminal underworld. Few remembered his legendary actions back then. After all, in the criminal underworld, there would always be new legends rising to the top, and the old ones faded fast.
The leader of the men barked, “I don’t care who you are! No one has ever dared to storm into the Paradise Estate and demand to see Mr. Holt Senior!”
“If it never happened before, then it’s happening now. Don’t waste my time. If you don’t inform him of my arrival, I’ll just go in and find him myself.”
“How arrogant of you! Get him, men!”
No one had ever dared act so recklessly on the Holt Crew’s territory. What would happen to their reputation if they let Ashton stroll right into the villa?
Ashton’s gaze turned cold. The darkness deep within his eyes seemed to blaze up like a fire. After kicking the nearest guy away from him, he began marching into the villa.
