Chapter 41
“Lou, go on, thank Mr. Gray for sparing your life,” Walter said.
He was able to keep his cool, though he was just as shocked on the inside. He’d already deduced that Ashton would have a card up his sleeve if he dared to come barging his way into the Holt Crew’s territory alone. However, he didn’t think that after ten years, Ashton would’ve become an S–ranked expert!
“Thank you for sparing my life, Mr. Gray!” Louie said earnestly with his head lowered, all of his earlier arrogance disappearing in a flash.
With a mere flicker of thought, Ashton dispelled the blade that had been formed out of his inner energy. “Now, will you tell me the port that the Wraiths use, Mr. Holt Senior?”
Sighing, Walter explained, “It’s not that I wish to keep it from you, Mr. Gray. But nevertheless, the Wraiths are a massive and powerful organization.
“If they find out I leaked their information, the Holt Crew, which is already in a precarious situation, might very well come to an end in short order. Besides…”
After a pause, he added, “The Wraiths are backed up by the obsidian Council, the largest criminal organization in the world. If they seek revenge, they could crush the Holt Crew as if we were mere ants.”
Ashton met Walter’s gaze and figured out what the sly Walter was after.
“If the Wraiths seek revenge, I’ll handle the consequences alone. And also, I’ll be owing you a favor for your help today, Mr. Holt Senior,” Ashton said.
“Since you’ve put it that way, Mr. Gray, it’ll be rude of me not to reciprocate your gesture,” Walter replied. “Most of the Wraiths‘ shipping operations happen out of the East Port. A cruise ship by the name of The Horizon will be setting sail at 10:00 pm tonight. That’s all I know.”
“Thank you.”
Now that Ashton had gotten the information he wanted, he dashed off in the Lamborghini, flooring the gas yet again as he drove straight toward the East Port.
He checked the time. There was half an hour before 10:00 pm, which was enough.
“Daddy’s coming to save you, Celia!”
His eyes gleamed murderously.
After Ashton left, Louie still had a hard time coming to terms with the situation. He approached Walter and muttered, “Dad, even if that Ashton is an S–ranked expert, we’ve got enough men here to slowly tire him out and kill him!”
“Remember this, Lou. Even in the martial arts world, not everything is done through fighting and killing. In fact, you get most things done through connections.
“Even if we killed Ashton, what good would it do us? Our losses would be heavy, and the special authorities, like the Legion, would launch an investigation. In any case, having more friends is always better than having more enemies,” Walter reminded.
After pausing in thought, he added solemnly, “Lou, I don’t hink Ashton showed his full strength today. Keep a close watch on the East Port tonight. If he gets out of this alive, find a chance to build a connection with him.
“Whatever he wants, give it to him. It would be best if you could strike up a friendship with him.”

“I get it now, Dad,” Louie said thoughtfully.
“This is the last thing I can do to protect you, Lou…” Walter said with a sigh.

Back at the police station, Roxy could feel her anxiety grow with every passing moment.
“Captain Morrison, Captain Clark, is there still no news? Who knows how Celia’s doing…”
Hector and Eunice could only shake their heads. They were also waiting for intel from their undercover operative.
“Don’t worry too much, Roxy. Maybe Ashton is already in the process of saving her,” Renee said.
“You think too highly of him, Renee! Do you seriously think Ashton’s more capable than the police and the Legion? He’s all talk!” Calvin couldn’t resist scoffing in contempt the moment Ashton’s name came up.
“If even we legionnaires can’t do anything about it, then no one can rescue Celia,” Eunice added firmly.
All of a sudden, Hector jumped to his feet. “We just got a lead–The Horizon, docked at the East Port! Let’s move out!”
“I’ll gather all of the best officers at once!” Harry said grimly.
“Only bring along those who are D–ranked experts and above. We’re dealing with the Wraiths here. They’re formidable in both reconnaissance and countering in a fight. There’s no point in bringing along regular police officers. That would only add to the risk of tipping them off!”
Hector’s eyes were gleaming sharply. After several months of waiting, they were finally closing the net around the Wraiths!
“I want to come too, Captain Morrison!” Roxy stopped Hector and requested desperately.
