Ronan’s face paled, but after nodding, he said, “Even so, his crimes weren’t worthy of death, and Ashton shouldn’t be the one who killed him!”

What’s wrong with that?” Lawrence’s eyes flashed with hostility. “Have you forgotten about the bloody feud between our two nations? The nerve of you to stand up for a Jalunese bastard! It seems to me that you might be just as worthy of death!”

Lawrence didn’t give Ronan a chance to say anything else. He slowly extended a single finger, and light flared as his inner energy gathered at the tip, forming a silver spear that shot forward with explosive force.

The beam of light streaked forward, rushing straight at Ronan. His eyes widened, and he quickly tried to form a defensive barrier, but it couldn’t withstand the spear–shaped light at all.

It pierced right through his chest, blasting him over ten feet backward and pinning him firmly against the wall.

He couldn’t move at all.

All of this happened in the blink of an eye. No one had expected that, after slapping Ronan twice, Lawrence would actually launch an attack that injured Ronan this severely.
