Divorced and Dominant Now You Cry novel Chapter 48

Ashton placed Celia on his back and said softly, Get some sleep, Celia. I’ll take you home right away.

OkayAnd Mommy tooCelia mumbled sleepily.

Ashton glanced at Roxy, his expression indifferent. He had no intention of saving her.

Gathering a wisp of inner energy, he shot it into Celia’s body to put her to sleep. Blood was about to be shed, and he obviously couldn’t let her witness that.

Kill him!Erasmus ordered in a sharp voice as his instincts screamed danger.

Don’t worry about a thing, sir! Let me deal with trash like him. I guarantee it won’t ruin your fun!Tucker declared with a menacing grin before he addressed Ashton.

Both your wife and your daughter are going to be the high master’s playthings. On account of you handing them over, I’ll give you a quick and painless death!

Being a Branked expert, he didn’t take Ashton seriously at all. He assumed Ashton was just a bug he could crush with a snap of his fingers.

In an instant, Tucker lunged forward like a ravenous wolf as he aimed his hand at Ashton’s throat. He’d stirred up a gust of wind, but at the very next second, his hand struck at nothing.

Ashton’s figure had somehow vanished from his eyes.

What’s going on?Tucker broke out in a cold sweat as a bad feeling washed over him.

How could he have lost his target? There was only one possibilitythe target had to be far quicker and more powerful than he was!

Immediately, his heart was seized with the certainty of death. He tried to retreat, but horror struck when he saw Ashton standing silently before him with an icy expression looking like the devil himself.

Why did a weakling like you have to provoke me?Ashton remarked.

The veins along his arm bulged as a murderous intent surged from him.

It sounded like a peal of thunder had rung out as his fist ripped through the air. In a flash, his fist slammed right down against Tucker’s skull. There was a loud crack, and Tucker’s head split open like a watermelon. Blood flew everywhere.

The now lifeless body of Tucker, a Branked expert, crumpled to the floor with blood still spilling out.

A deafening silence fell.

The depraved members of the Wraiths stared in shock as they swiftly staggered backward to put some distance between them and Ashton.

Tucker had been the second most powerful member of the Wraiths, but he’d been killed with a single punch. He didn’t even get to put up a fight!

Even the dumbest guy around knew just how formidable Ashton was now.

Kill him! Don’t let him leave here alive!” Dex roared.

His eyes turned bloodshot as he stared at Tucker, who was ow lying dead in a pool of his own blood.

The members of the Wraiths exchanged looks before steeling themselves and rushing at Ashton together. Those in their line of work had long accepted that they could die at any given moment. When confronted with an enemy,

their only option was to kill or be killed.

Since you’re all so eager to die, how can I not oblige?

Ashton’s lips curled into a cold smile. His silhouette flickered, leaving nothing but the barest shadow where he’d been standing. Holding a dagger that no one had seen him draw out, he charged into their ranks.

He moved like a phantom. Every strike he made claimed a life. Despite the members of the Wraiths ganging up on him, they couldn’t even get near him, let alone harm him.

Most chilling of all, Ashton never once turned his back on them. After all, Celia was asleep on his back.

Blood sprayed everywhere, but not a drop landed on him.

In under ten minutes, every last member of the Wraiths lay dead on the floor, save for Dex. Not one was left standing.

The stench of blood hung heavy in the air as the cabin now looked like a scene straight out of hell.
