Chapter 502
Samantha was not a hopeless romantic like Martha, after all.
Even Roxy could tell that Samantha obviously harbored both resentment and hostility toward Ashton. This time, she was certain that she would win the competition against Ashton.
She couldn’t wait to see him bite the dust. She wanted to prove to him what she was capable of. And most importantly, she wanted to prove that she was better than him!
Samantha froze for a moment. When she received the termination contract from Roxy, she thought her world had collapsed. She never expected Ashton to help her resolve the issue without any cost.
But if that was the case, she would have to keep her promise and sign with Evermore Media.
Staring at Roxy’s genuine smile, Samantha felt conflicted.
Honestly, Roxy had treated her quite generously. If it weren’t due to the chronic stage of her illness, which was tormenting her, she would never have betrayed Roxy.
“Sammy, quick! Sign the contract! Ms. Sloan has promised that they’ll arrange a drama production for us, and it will definitely be a big hit. Then, we can publicly announce our relationship,” Jay said with a grin. He had already begun to regard Samantha as his.
But what he regretted was that he had never even touched Samantha’s hands. She insisted they could have physical contact only after publicizing their relationship. As for the most intimate thing, that would have to wait after marriage.
What a performative woman!
But the more she acted this way, the more Jay wanted her.
However, Samantha kept quiet and looked toward Ashton instead.
At the same time, Ashton, too, looked back at Samantha. A hint of astonishment flashed in his eyes–Samantha possessed the Aether constitution.
Even though her constitution was not of the divine type, it could still aid immensely with the cultivation of the Drakell technique. The Drakell technique had been set in motion within his body, igniting clusters of flame.
Samantha’s brows furrowed, making known her displeasure, as she sensed Ashton’s intensely possessive and piercing gaze.
Noticing Ashton staring at Samantha, Jay felt a wave of fury wash over him. He stepped forward and stood before Samantha. Coldly, he warned, “Ashton Gray, who do you think you’re looking at? Keep staring, and I’ll beat you up!”
“So, you’re Jay Millburn?”
Ashton cast a quick glance at Jay. An air of distaste took over his expression when he recalled the dirt Elise told him about Jay. “I’m looking at the actress my company is signing. Is there a problem?”
“What an absurd joke! I’m telling you, no matter what terms and conditions you offer, Sammy will never sign with your company. Just give up already!”
Then, turning to Samantha, Jay said, “Sammy, we don’t have anything to discuss with this bastard. Let’s…”
Suddenly, Sylvia stepped forward, raised her hand, and delivered a loud slap across Jay’s face.

Shocked, Jay glared at Sylvia in disbelief and growled, “You-
“That’s for calling Ashton a bastard,” Sylvia uttered coldly.
“You bitch! How dare you hit me? I-”
Fuming, Jay wanted to strike back with a slap, but before he could get closer to Sylvia, Ashton’s kick had already sent him flying. A loud crash sounded as Jay hit the wall, forcing a painful cry out of him.
“Ashton, that’s enough!”
Roxy slammed her hand on the table in a towering rage. Jay was her company’s artist. How could he be publicly slapped by Sylvia and then kicked by Ashton? That was no doubt a huge insult to Jay.
“Roxy, how could you blame Ashton? You saw it too. It was obviously Jay who provoked him! What does he take himself to be?” Sylvia smirked, gazing toward Roxy.
Roxy’s face fell, and she glanced at Jay, who was struggling to his feet. She frowned, not wanting to be entangled in the argument.
Turning toward Samantha, she said, “Sammy, once you’ve signed the contract, let’s head back to Summit Media. I’ll arrange a few major publicity events for you.”
“Ms. Sloan, I…”
Samantha hesitated shortly and continued in a guilty tone, “Ms. Sloan, I’m sorry. I can’t renew my contract with Summit Media. I’m signing with Evermore Media!”
“What?”
Hearing that, Roxy froze as if she had just heard the most absurd thing on earth. Quivering, she stared at Samantha in utter shock and asked, “But why?”
