Niall and the others froze at Ashton’s words. A powerful wave of fear crashed down on them from out of nowhere.

“Niall, you’re a grandmaster! Hurry up and take down that lunatic!”

“If he had the nerve to kill Lyle, he might really kill us, too! Niall, you’re the strongest here. Get rid of him, fast!”

The spoiled heirs stumbled backward in panic. After clearly sensing Ashton’s killing intent, cold sweat beaded across their foreheads.

Niall’s heart clenched with dread. He first pulled back to a safer distance from Ashton, then forced through gritted teeth, “Do you know what you just did, Ashton? Before Niall could finish, a jet–black beam tore through the air.

His eyes widened in shock. The shadow of death swallowed him whole, and his heart plunged. The instant that the black beam locked onto him, he knew he was no match for Ashton.

With life and death hanging in the balance, Niall rallied every ounce of his inner energy, condensing it into his strongest defensive barrier.

A loud clang rang out, and the barrier shattered like glass the moment the black beam touched it.

Niall jolted. In his frantic scramble, he managed only to avoid the black beam from fatally injuring him. With a sharp hiss, a line of bright blood sprayed from his side.

He let out an anguished cry and crashed heavily to the floor, blood pouring out from the wound.
