“Ashton, what are you going to do?” Sally couldn’t stop trembling. What was happening had already broken everything she thought she knew.

“I’m going to kill,” Ashton said in a low voice, his eyes turning colder.

“But it won’t be good to offend Niall and the others. Their alliance of interests is deep–rooted. It won’t be that easy to take them on…” Panic crept into Sally’s voice. She deeply regretted asking Ashton to come.

He gently brushed her cheek and smiled. “Deep–rooted interests, huh? Then I’ll rip them out by the roots. The people I called should be here any minute.”

Five minutes later, a sharp, lethal presence rolled in like a storm.

The Northern Troops, led by Neil, arrived. A glance showed more than a hundred men. Every single one wore a cold stare; the air around them reeked of battle and bloodshed.

“Let’s go. The hunting game that’s a judgment of death begins now. I’m going to show these spoiled brats what it means when karma for their evil deeds comes back ten times harder!” Ashton strode out of the room with Sally and Leon, who were visibly worried and shaken, by his side.

He produced the Legion’s Sigil that Lawrence had given him and said in an eerily calm manner, “By command of the Legion’s deputy head, the Grim Reaper, we are to judge the guilty. Whoever stands in the way will be killed without mercy.”

At the sight of the Legion’s Sigil, all one hundred soldiers and Neil answered in unison, their roar splitting the night.

Leon kept swallowing hard. He took in the Northern Troops‘ banners whipping in the wind and the battle robes the men wore. His heart, which he’d thought was long dead, began pounding again. A fire he’d believed extinguished flared back to life.

“You guys… are from the Legion?” he asked.

“Yes.” Ashton smiled, then flicked a glance southeast. “We’ll start with Kendrick Zamora. He killed a family of three in a drunken hit–and–run and made someone else take the fall. He shall be sentenced to death, and the sentence is to be carried out now!”

He led the Northern Troops toward the Zamora residence.

Neil followed close behind. The moment Ashton had summoned the Northern Troops with the Legion’s Sigil, he knew that night would be a bloody one. He didn’t ask questions, though. He and his men only had one duty–to obey orders.

Ten minutes later, the Northern Troops surrounded the Zamora residence, their banners snapping in the night.

“Kendrick Zamora, get out here and face your death!” Ashton’s voice boomed. It crashed over the Zamora residence like thunder in a clear sky.

Kendrick burst into tears and dropped to his knees before his parents. “Mom, Dad, you have to save me! Ashton Gray is insane–he keeps talking about some death judgment and says he’s going to kill me!

“I only ran over a few people, didn’t I? How can he just kill me? Lyle has already died by his hand. You can’t let anything happen to me! I’m your only son!”

“Don’t worry, sweetie. As long as I’m here, no one lays a finger on you! We Zamoras are not pushovers–we have plenty of powerful experts! I’d like to see them try to break in here!” Kendrick’s mother cried.

The next second, all of the Zamora family’s experts were blasted off their feet before hitting the ground with agonized cries.

Ashton and the Northern Troops forced their way into the Zamora residence, taking out the experts one after another.

“Mom, Dad, that’s Ashton! He’s the one who wants me dead!” Kendrick sensed Ashton’s killing intent and broke out in goosebumps. He quickly ducked behind his parents.
