Ronan had already been humiliated by Ashton once before.

“Is it true that you’ve been playing a game of manhunt?” Ronan glanced at Niall coldly. His expression was sour with displeasure.

Scum like Niall deserved to die a hundred times over, but this was Kristoff’s only son.

“I was just messing around… I won’t do it again,” Niall muttered under his breath.

“You ungrateful brat!” Kristoff, the patriarch of the household, immediately flew into a rage. He slapped Niall across the face.

“From today onwards, you’re not to set foot outside this residence for a year! I will personally oversee your punishment,” he barked coldly.

Niall nursed his stinging cheek before lowering his head. He apologised profusely, though he was secretly pleased.

Clearly, his father hadn’t given up on him.

Kristoff smiled faintly as he said to Ronan, “Mr. Hopper, my delinquent son has learned his lesson. I will make sure he behaves from now on. Might we put this matter to rest? After all, the Wagner family and the Dominion Vanguard are now allies!”

Ronan frowned. “This operation by the Legion likely won’t end so simply, I’m afraid.”

Kristoff replied indifferently, “With you stepping in, Mr. Hopper, that so–called Legion wouldn’t stand a chance. Whatever you say goes!”

Ronan’s brows remained furrowed. He did not say another word.

After pondering for a moment, Kristoff held up two fingers. “Mr. Hopper, if my son is spared tonight, I’m willing to add another 20% to our shared profits and fully cooperate with all Dominion Vanguard operations.”

“It’s a deal!”

Satisfied with Ronan’s response, Kristoff flashed a smile. His eyes glinted coldly. “This is perfect timing. Tonight, we shall crush Aston’s momentum and destroy Lord Reaper’s reputation! Mark my words, the Legion is on its last legs!

“I’ll leave it to you now, Mr. Hopper,” Kristoff finished solemnly.

Just then, an elderly housekeeper hurried in. “Mr. Wagner, representatives from the other nine elite families have arrived. They’re all pleading for us to protect their offspring!”

Kristoff’s eyes lit up. He smiled. “Mr. Hopper, it seems tonight really is the night to rally some support. Once we drive away Ashton and his troops, all of Javonbury will bow down to the Dominion Vanguard!”

Ronan’s face brightened as well.

Now that the Dominion Vanguard had reached an agreement with the Sage, control of Javonbury’s criminal underworld was just within reach.

If they could secure the allegiance of the ten elite families as well, with the Wagners at the forefront, the Dominion Vanguard’s dominance in Javonbury would only be a matter of time.

This was, undeniably, a tremendous benefit for the Dominion Vanguard’s development.

“Let them all in! I’d like to see who dares set foot in the Wagner residence!” Ronan sneered.

He would deliver a brutal blow to the Legion tonight and repay the humiliation Ashton had inflicted upon him tenfold!

“Mr. Gray, all of the remaining people who are to be put on death trial have been taken to the Wagner residence,” Neil said.

“Just as I expected! It’s fine. That saves me more time, actually. On to the Wagner residence, then!”

The savage intent in Ashton’s eyes continued to rise.

“Mr. Gray, members of the Dominion Vanguard are currently housed in the Wagner residence, and so is their deputy head, Ronan! Capturing anyone from there might not be as easy,” Neil couldn’t help but warn.

“If we storm the Wagner residence only to return empty–handed, the Legion’s reputation will suffer a devastating blow. This could be the final strike that ultimately destroys us, with the Legion already teetering on the brink of collapse!”
