From the day they were born, they were told that their mothers died during childbirth. Hence, neither of them had ever met them before.

As they grew older, they tried searching, but they never found anything. Growing up, it felt as though they had only ever had a cold and distant father.

“After giving birth, they became useless to your father. So, he got rid of them himself.”

“W–What? What on earth are you saying? That’s impossible! There’s no way that my father killed my mom!”

Clive was trembling. He couldn’t bring himself to go through the document on the table.

Ivan was devastated. Furious, he roared, “Stop spewing nonsense, Ashton! That’s impossible! My mother. She died during childbirth! There’s no way!”

Ashton watched as Clive and Ivan broke down. He added emotionlessly, “While I was gathering information about the Sage, 1 didn’t expect him to be this deranged either. However, this is the truth. Nothing will change just because you’re in denial.”
