Chapter 687
Clive went pale, and his body began to tremble with fear.
“You’re lying!” he barked angrily. “What proof do you have?”
Ivan, on the other hand, glanced at his half–brother with a strange look on his face. If Ashton’s claims were true, he could use them to his advantage and ruin Clive.
That way, he’d be able to remove any competition for himself.
“Am I?” Ashton scoffed. “You didn’t just sleep with the Sage’s lovers–you even had a child with one of those women. I have the child’s paternity report right here. Would you like to take a look at it?”
Subsequently, Ashton tossed the report onto the table. “Will this suffice? If that’s not enough, I have more. I plan to present everything I’ve gathered to the Sage himself!”
“Why, you-”
Clive picked up the paternity report with a trembling hand. In an instant, his body went limp and his expression darkened.
“What do you want, Ashton Gray?” he demanded as his face contorted with rage.
He was fully aware that Ashton wanted to threaten him. However, he had no idea what he wanted from him.
Ashton didn’t respond to Clive. Instead, he turned to Ivan and said, “As far as I know, you’ve been siphoning off huge portions of the Sage’s assets for yourself. Is that correct, Ivan?
Ivan jumped to his feet. “N–Nonsense!”
“Want proof? I have proof of your deeds too. Here–see for yourself!” Ashton declared.
He chucked a stack of documents onto the table and laughed coldly. “What you’ve done is no better than a blatant betrayal. Based on the Sage’s personality, how do you think he’d punish you for what you’ve done?”
Ivan flipped through the files on the table. He couldn’t believe it—all of the things he had done were all documented in these papers!
“How did you get all of this? What do you want from us?” Ivan asked. He had gradually begun to panic as well.
They knew their father well.
Flint Vance was a cruel and merciless man. He would never go easy on them just because they were his sons.
To Flint, nothing mattered more than his own personal gain. His sons were just children conceived through surrogacy. Blood and family ties meant nothing to him.
“I want the two of you on my side. Bring your men. Together, we’ll overthrow the Sage and strip him of his position as the ruler of Javonbury’s criminal underworld,” Ashton declared firmly.
Although they had expected this, Clive and Ivan still froze upon hearing, Ashton’s demands. Fear began to dawn on their faces.
“Impossible!” Clive shook his head firmly. “You’ll get us killed! I’d rather confess everything to my dad than to follow you into ruin!”
“He’s right, Ashton! This is an impossible ask. If we confess, we might still be able to stay alive. Attempting to overthrow our
father is a death sentence.
“You can’t use this to threaten us, Ashton. You’re being far too naive!” Ivan claimed.
He took a deep breath and continued, “Regardless of what we’ve done, we’re still his sons. He might not kill us if we decide to come cleani.
