Chapter 72
“You don’t believe me?” Ashton asked Felice.
“Of course not!” she replied.
“What if I pull it off?” he queried with an amused expression.
Clenching her fists, she declared, “If you pull it off, I’ll be at your command. I’ll obey your every word without question! But what if you fail?”
“If I fail, I’ll leave Evermore Club and never step foot into this establishment again!” Ashton said.
“Ashton…”
Sylvia panicked at his words. It would take nothing short of a miracle to get a liquor supply contract with Yorkshore Group in a single night. Besides, Natalie had already stated that she wasn’t going to work with Evermore Club.
How was she supposed to keep Ashton around if he failed to hold up his end of the bet?
“Since you’re putting me in charge of Evermore Club, you need to trust me,” Ashton said to Sylvia.
“Alright. I trust you, Ashton!”
Sylvia’s heart settled back in place. Even if he failed, she’d handle the consequences with him.
Ashton approached Kurt next. Smiling, he remarked, “You think you’re a big deal because you’re a B–ranked expert and that Evermore Club can’t survive without you, huh?”
“I just don’t want my men and me to be ordered around by someone completely useless!” Kurt retorted in a tough
tone.
“So, you’re saying that I’m useless? That you can’t accept that I, Isaac, and the others have come to drive you out of your turf and take your place?”
The weight of Ashton’s imposing gaze bore down on Kurt. His heartbeat spiked, cold sweat beading across his forehead. The sheer pressure of Ashton’s presence made him feel a sense of danger deep within his bones.
But banking on his pride as a B–ranked expert, he clenched his jaw and replied, “That’s right!”
“What will it take to convince you
otherwise?”
“I’ll accept it if you defeat me!” Kurt declared.
“I’ll let you throw the first three moves. If you can so much as touch a single hair on me, I’ll turn around and leave without ever returning to Evermore Club,” Ashton offered with a taunting smirk.
“You’re looking down on me?” Kurt snarled, his rage surging within him. He felt like he’d been underestimated.
“Of course,” Ashton replied breezily. “Why should I have any respect for a pigheaded B–ranked expert like you?”
Kurt was outraged. Clenching his fists, he gathered all of his strength and drew himself upright. Turning to Sylvia, he said, “It’s not that I don’t want to show you any courtesy Ms. Langley, but this guy, Ashton Gray, has gone too far! I won’t be able to answer to my men if I don’t teach him a lesson today.”
His veins were bulging as he shouted, “Ashton! Once I pummel you to the floor, I’ll get someone to toss you Evermore Club!”
With that, Kurt bent low and launched himself forward like a ferocious beast. Eyes blazing, he unleashe strength. His fists shot forward like balls of steel as he aimed at Ashton’s head.

His punches tore through the air with a howl, but to everyone’s shock, none of them landed. He didn’t even come close to touching Ashton!
Kurt’s heart sank as a bad feeling began to stir up inside of him.
“You’ve had your three moves. Now, it’s my turn.”
A dark gleam flickered in Ashton’s eyes as he raised his arm and threw out a punch. His fist slammed right into Kurt’s abdomen like a battering ram.
The impact made Kurt sputter out a mouthful of blood as his body was sent hurtling several yards through the air before smashing against the wall.
Everyone turned to look at Kurt, only to find a fist–shaped crater in his abdomen. His bones had shattered, and it was a gruesome sight.
“Are you convinced now?” Ashton inquired, his voice echoing like thunder–not just in Kurt’s mind, but in the hearts of every single person in Evermore Club.
