Chapter 725
“You must win, Ashton!” Eunice thought to herself.
Her heart thumped against her chest as she sat with her long legs pressed tightly together.
She couldn’t help but find herself recalling the three times she and Ashton had made love under the statue of the Lady of Grace back then.
Roxy’s gaze sharpened as she saw an entirely new side of Ashton, one that radiated a more arrogant and commanding presence. She found that his temperament was extremely charismatic, so much so that she felt compelled to acknowledge his appeal.
She couldn’t help but wonder if she would have made a different choice had he been this forceful and dominant back then instead of being gentle and obedient.
She shook her head with a sigh. “You’ll finally see that you aren’t invincible after all after you’re defeated in this fight, Ashton.”
Ashton had just set foot on the deathmatch stage when the killing intent from him and Felix slammed into each other with a sharp clatter, causing the surrounding air to shake as streaks of energy raged.
“Go to hell, Ashton!” Felix bellowed as he instantly pushed his power to the peak. He moved with the speed of a hurricane, heading straight for Ashton.
He unleashed the full weight of his semi–divine realm’s killing intent, raining it down on Ashton to suppress his speed and power. He had already reached within a foot of Ashton in the blink of an eye, causing the air around them to implode with a
thunderous boom.
“Cloud Cluster Strike!”
Felix didn’t pull his punches. He funneled all his energy into his right leg and delivered a devastating kick, letting his power explode forward with maximum force.
Ashton’s pupil dilated in surprise at Felix’s speed. He quickly summoned a swirl of black energy around himself, forming a solid light barrier for protection.
He was knocked back several steps by the sheer force of the kick. But instead of being deterred, the fighting spirit in his eyes flared. He was already exhilarated from the fight–this was exactly the kind of ruthless, all–out fight he craved.
“You ought to know that speed is power, Ashton! You ruined Clay and crushed every hope I placed on him! You’ll die by my hands today!” Felix’s gaze burned with killing intent.
He wasn’t looking for a fair fight–he wanted to exploit his massive lead in speed and rank to execute Ashton immediately. He was determined to show the world that the Legion was a relic of the past.
Felix’s Cloud Cluster Strike intensified as he darted around the stage, his kicks delivering devastating impact.
Ashton’s light barrier was clearly failing, covered in a web of cracks that signaled its imminent destruction.
He was trapped on the losing side, with his body beginning to quiver from the strain and his attire beginning to shred by the sheer intensity of the assault.
It was only the beginning of the fight, yet the momentum of the fight shifted entirely in Felix’s favor.
“I told you that Ashton is punching too far above his weight! Ashton isn’t even worthy of fighting the Sage. Felix is more than capable of finishing him off! I have no idea why so many people put their faith in him when reality shows that this is as far as Ashton can go!”
“Isn’t it only natural for a transcendent realm expert to meet a brutal end in a place like this? Ashton’s previous victory was nothing but a stroke of luck since Clay wasn’t a genuine semi–divine realm expert. Ashton will soon pay the price for his arrogance!”
